▶ WELCOME!

Hello Outsiders, and welcome to this month’s CR meme, as well as OOC intro post for characters who applied this round.

Below are a couple of announcements, along with a schedule of upcoming events.

▶ Please do not forget that moving forward, there will be activity check every month - starting with this month of January. We have also linked the AC page for you here if you want to submit your AC early.

▶ There will be a team mingle going up on January 15th that will serve as our monthly event. Players who find themselves lacking things to do are always welcome to make use of the game setting to post their own open logs
▶ You may have noticed changes in dates as the game has progressed. We ask for your patience as we iron out details to find a schedule that fits our ideal game pace.
▶ As a reminder, the game's schedule is bimonthly, with first month focusing on CR building opportunities, and the second being on fighting kaiju. So beginning with this month, January will be focused on CR building, and the next month, February will be the kaiju fight.

Raidou Kuzunoha XIV | Devil Summoner

ABOUT YOU: I'm a big old weirdo who does lots of RP, loves music, movie, TV, anime... Besides RP I knit, bike, play WoW and too much Japanese mahjong. I'm East Coast time and I have a frequently dull WFH job, so I have a lot of time to tag. Don't feel obligated to answer me back as fast!

CIVILIAN NAME & OCCUPATION: Johei Narumi, 3rd year high schooler and shrine worker.

CHARACTER BLURB: Raidou is the main protector of The Capital of Japan, saving it from existential supernatural threats of all kinds, mostly demons. He also has demons that he commands and fights alongside with like the Megaten version of pokemon. Sadly, he has none here yet with him. He's a highly trained swordsman and marksman as well. He lived a very sheltered life being trained from the time he could hold a sword, taken in as an orphaned infant by the Kuzunoha clan and raised to be a summoner. He's also from 1922 and has had a hell of a time adjusting to life in Neo Tokyo, but he's young, so he's getting there.

Raidou is very polite and quiet, not so great at conversation. He's friendier than he puts on, even if he can be a little cold to new people. He does like to be helpful where he can around the base, trying to keep busy. In battle, he is a fierce fighter with his sword and has a tendency to jump in and take/block attacks for others, no matter if they're more powerful than him or not, with little regard to his own safety. Right before arriving in Neo Tokyo, he suffered a huge betrayal from the one person he let himself even remotely have feelings for, and also thinks that person killed him. He knows a lot of Outsiders want to get home, but he's thoroughly convinced he can't. This is life now, as weird as it is.

CR YOU WANT: Anyone patient to put up with a kid who has a hard time opening up. Raidou has always come off as aloof, but he's going to find it really hard to trust anyone too much again after what just happened to him. He's torn between really wanting to make friends and being too scared to open up to people. Slow burn CR is what it is I guess? Just give him some time!

I currently have an open log for some prompts to do some normal teen stuff around town, and one back at the base. Feel free to jump in there if you want. Help him, he has no idea how to be a teen.

CR YOU CAN OFFER: Raidou would also love sparring partners! That's one thing he loves to do, and he can socialize without talking too much, haha. It can be totally handwaved if you want. But you'll often find him doing kata in the training room. If someone wants to learn how to use a katana or do some target practice, he'd help.

Otherwise, I'm always open to any and all CR.

PLANS & GOALS: Raidou is planning secretly to get some cybernetic upgrades. He doesn't have superpowers like most of you do. Without his demons, and without kaiju being demons to be purified either, all he has is his raw fighting skills. Don't get me wrong, those are very very good, but this is Raidou. He's this city's protector now, and he doesn't want to be seen as weak or useless. He wants to help as many people as possible. So he at least might get the healing upgrade if nothing else. He really wants to atone for his failures, and doesn't know how else to do it. He's only told one other person this so far, not sure if he'll tell anyone else or not yet...

I also have some ideas for some dumb future prompts which include him having an existential crisis because his school advisors are trying to get him to go to college, and the impending spring BIG SENIOR DANCE! /ominous chords

CHARACTER BLURB: A very angry mutant with a chip on her shoulder regarding humans and how they've treated her. Has two other personalities that are basically Cinnamoroll and Mohawk from Gremlins. Has weird psychic katana tentacle hands and horns that inexplicably look like cat ears.

CR YOU WANT: Is it unhelpful to still say "all kinds" at this point? Because I still very much want her to be a Negative Nancy and get called out for it. I can roll with negative CR just as well as positive, but god knows she needs more positive influences in her life.

CR YOU CAN OFFER: Provided she isn't being mean because of a hair trigger temper (read: for no reason at all), Lucy will speak her mind about whatever's going on. For better and worse. She's trying to be better about not making asshole comments to people but the results are...mixed.

PLANS & GOALS:
- slowly introduce Nyuu and Voice-chan more into Synflux's goings-on but that's probably going to take a while

CR YOU WANT: More nerd friends, people to help him socialize in the city. He's a support class, and he could use some direct fighters he can partner with during battles. Anyone that can keep him out of trouble, too.
CR YOU CAN OFFER: Taryon is an inventor who wants to build stuff for everyone! Having people come up to him and ask would be a great way to start CR, even if he doesn't end up building stuff (he's limited by money and resources). And he has four pet roombas that characters might have seen.
PLANS & GOALS: Not much at the moment apart from getting word out there that he builds things and reading books and watching TV shows. There's so much about modern society that he wants to learn about.

YUJI ITADORI | JUJUTSU KAISEN.

CIVILIAN NAME & OCCUPATION: Ryoutoku Wasuke, firefighter

CHARACTER BLURB: Yuji is the protagonist of the Jujutsu Kaisen series and also the vessel of the King of Curses, Sukuna. He's generally an optimistic, kind-hearted teen who wants to do his best to protect people and use his inhuman strength for good things, but the last few weeks of canon have beaten him down and left him pretty broken. He's the kind of person to try and make friends with everyone, but he can put up a heck of a fight when needed.

CR YOU WANT: Genuinely, everything. Yuji lends himself to people who want to take care of the optimistic ones, he's a good sparring partner for the fighting types, he's a dumbass with a big heart if your character likes those and he can generally get along with almost anyone. It's not as easy to get on with him if you're more of a morally grey/dubious character, but he will still try. He's always on the look out for more found family/father figures/people he can protect!

CR YOU CAN OFFER: Yuji definitely lends himself to positive, friendly CR since he's a "good" boy and will do his best to help people. He can be kind of goofy, a little silly, and is particularly good at fighting and hand-to-hand combat where necessary. If you want someone to lend a helping hand or a listening ear he'd be good for that as well. He's also made a network post about the healing touch upgrade if anyone is curious about learning about that. If your character knows Nobara, Megumi or Nanami then Yuji will not be far away in making friends (or trying to!)

PLANS & GOALS: Yuji has settled in a little and has begun to deal with the emotional fallout of two of his favourite people being here and not horrifically wounded, so he's working on keeping them safe. He's going to be overworking himself and probably getting into trouble during the missions, so if anyone wants to try and protect this boy(!!!) then I would love that CR. What Yuji really needs to work on is his self worth and the way he feels about himself mentally, so trying to get through that and come out better on the other side would be great to do as a bit of a character arc for him.

CIVILIAN NAME & OCCUPATION: Shōri Bakudan, Police officer & part-time Demolitions engineer as needed

CHARACTER BLURB: In a world where superheroes (and villains) are the global society, with 80% of the world's population possessing a Quirk, a superpower ranging from lame to awesome, Bakugo is a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School, training to become a Pro Hero & aiming to become the greatest hero in history. Adopting the hero name "Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight", Bakugo has proven to be one of the strongest students in Class 1-A, and in the entire new generation of upcoming heroes. A natural-born genius and gifted combatant, he utilizes the powerful and versatile Quirk, Explosion, which allows him to secrete nitroglycerin-like sweat from the palms of his hands and ignite it on command, creating strong explosions. Generally, Bakugo is not an easy person to get along with (crude, arrogant, short-tempered, aggressive) but his experiences in canon have humbled him and matured him to a calmer degree. As of late, there's a big war in canon, and more detail would be very spoiler, so let's leave it at that.

CR YOU WANT: I'm totally open to anything, from positive CR to negative CR. Bakugo doesn't do "friends" (he won't admit it) so expect to be called "extras" until you gain his hard-earned respect. Rivalries and training partners are loved, as are people who can get past his aggressive shell and pester the heck out of him. I'm even down for enemies if you want to make CR difficult when they inevitably get smashed together on missions.

CR YOU CAN OFFER: Most CR is going to start negative with him at first, though he'll view it as "required" since there are missions to do. Expect it to be militaristic and distanced for a while. That said, he's a hero, so he'll protect, save, fight, and win to get the job done with 100% undisputed victory. If you want someone talented to spar against or speculate/plan with, then Bakugo's someone to opt for on your team. If you don't mind the spikes. Or if you like poking proverbial explosive beehives on your downtime, come bother him...

PLANS & GOALS: FIGHT!! I'm very fond of action threads (don't get to do them often enough) so anything from missions to training to sparring would be amazing. Bakugo doesn't trust LILITH so anyone who likewise wants to keep an eye on their "captors" is going to make some kind of connection with him. While he constantly yells or promises death threats at people, he's never actively followed through (again, hero) so at some point, I'd be down for forcing him to make a very dark choice. Currently: Since he's settling in now, Bakugo's NOT WATCHING OUT for his fellow Everlight teammates because they might be his mission partners and slow him down if they're not in good shape, or anything like that. He HASN'T cooked one a meal, HASN'T given another one a hot bath, HASN'T given two pep talks, etc... And he certainly isn't making friends while he cracks his knuckles waiting for the long-overdue Kaiju fights. That would be lame.

CIVILIAN NAME & OCCUPATION: Chazz Princeton, uhhhh idk probably a barista or something, I haven't done too much with this particular bit in game yet

CHARACTER BLURB: Manjoume is a 17-year-old who just graduated as a student from the one and only Duel Academy, a special school that teaches people who want to pursue careers as professional duelists or anything else otherwise related to the world's greatest card game, Duel Monsters. A card game so great, practically everything revolves around the game... including several attempts to nearly end the world or having to fight against actual flesh and blood Duel Monsters from alternate dimensions. Oops. In Manjoume's case, he actually has the ability to see and communicate with the Duel Monster spirits that were able to appear in his world, and thus was constantly haunted by the most annoying ones. They didn't make the trip here with him, but he can still see any potential spirits or the like that show up here.

As for Manjoume himself, he is The Tsundere Rival guy: Upon first impressions, one might think that Manjoume is... well, a conceited little shit, in all honesty. He has a bad habit of speaking about himself as if he is somehow superior to others, whether it be in regard to his ability as a duelist, or even just in general about looks or intelligence, even if whatever flattery he is stating about himself probably isn't true. Though, he is trying to be a better person these days, as he is capable of showing more respect nowadays, and while he can be abrasive, he doesn't go out of his way to bully those less fortunate than he is anymore. He can even be capable of heroic actions if he puts his all into it, knowing when it's important to do the right thing even at a cost to himself. He hasn't become a perfect person, of course--aside from his arrogance, he's still prone to petty insults and getting angry over the silliest things. Or even acting like a slob despite his wealthy upbringing, either by being careless when making a mess, or being too lazy to clean up after the fact. Or even embarrassing himself and others with more eccentric or impulsive gestures, especially when it comes to the romance department and trying to woo someone... basically, he's disaster teenager, as you do.

CR YOU WANT: Anything and everything! People to befriend (good luck getting him to admit being friends right away though), others to butt heads with, role models to look up to and rely on in this place (god knows he needs adults or family figures he can actually trust for once), anyone willing to help him train and gain further combat ability against kaiju here, anyone interested in learning how to play Duel Monsters, so on and so forth. I'm also absolutely here for any negative CR if desired, as he is unfortunately easy to manipulate sometimes if you know the right things to say and do.
CR YOU CAN OFFER: Want a tsundere to (gently) bully? This is your bait. He can also teach anyone interested in Duel Monsters how to play, or even be called upon for any spirit-type shenanigans since he is still able to see and talk with any that might appear here. Plus, once he has decided that he respects and cares about you, he will in fact die for you.
PLANS & GOALS: Since he does not have his Duel Disk here along with his cards from back home, he is going to want to try to explore any means of a substitute to use in order to still fight as a duelist in his own way. For example, he's been recently experimenting with the ocular implants in order to project the image of Duel Monsters for others to see in the simulations to distract the enemies with that your character is more than welcome to reference having noticed. Other than that, I am completely open to any suggestions or plotting anyone wants to do with us here!

Obviously I want more of their ever-clashing shenanigans. If/when he does ever get his Duel Monster cards back, I'm gonna tag into Bakugou learning about the game and how to play, because that's always awesome.

But in the meantime, could bond over training in martial arts (sans Quirk obviously) to give Manjoume another method of fighting. Or perhaps even exploring the simulation area for information or data.

And since it is winter, Bakugou's been using his Quirk to heat up his water in the dorm bathtubs to avoid using the hot springs or communal baths as often, if that's an option of interest~

CIVILIAN NAME & OCCUPATION: Quincy Peil. He's going to get bored of AI school quickly he's going truant so I'll probably have him pick up a part-time job. I'm undecided on what. You can scruff him if your job needs extra hands.

CHARACTER BLURB: He's a giant robot pilot with an aversion to piloting giant robots. Spoilers for WfM ahead!

Gundams in Witch From Mercury are considered heretical technology and outlawed for its health toll to pilots, but sketchy companies will do as they please. "Elan"'s one of several test subjects who's been bioengineered to pilot gundam and given someone else's face to serve as a body double in duels. He is NOT interested in being a tool for a sketchy megacorp and just wants to be free to live his own life. Too bad he's here now. He can act smiley and be a little shit but underneath he's got a negative view of LILITH and is angry/afraid about being cyberchipped. His new year's resolution is to not die, like every year, because such is his life as bearer of the (gundam) curse.

CR YOU WANT: I open my arms to both positive and negative CR. Friends, teammates, people he can annoy/be annoyed by. His life's been kinda messed up and he could use some positive presences he could come to care about outside of himself. Under his flippant attitude, he desires connection and to not be alone.
CR YOU CAN OFFER: He's social and willing to bug anyone. Will commiserate with others who are not thrilled to be here. He has gremlin energy to be reigned in or entertained. You can fix him or you can make him worse.
PLANS & GOALS: I am new so just building CR and getting him settled.
This is his first time on Earth, so he's after good food, new experiences, also exploring the city and outer perimeters as much as he can get away with.
He'll begrudgingly take his mech out to figure out to what extent it's been nerfed if anyone wants to have a look. He's in the camp of fight smart, not hard (he's a slacker) so if anybody wants to think about strategies that means less fighting in the long run...
I think it'd be funny if he learned about mecha vs. kaiju as a genre.

But... hand gestures. i swear there's something there... my girlfriend has told me about the multiple elans since i always see numbers attached to them and i'm sure there's a connection between the elan clone factory and being a puppet prototype....

but also 🫶 welcome to brimstone i can't believe i have to update that now with our newest meat... wanderer can always use social people to annoy the shit out of him since he's so avoidant of genuine connections tbh. that, and he can relate with aversion to piloting giant robots. he Has Been There, by his own doing, but we don't talk about it. it's part of his cringe past (it happened like a month ago canon wise probably tbh) (we don't talk about it...)

Nanami Kento | Jujutsu Kaisen

ABOUT YOU: I am a very big horror fan and collector of folklore. I watch various movies, anime, TV shows, etc but mostly my interest is horror with folklore creatures and psychological themes in some way. ...On the other end, I love Kamen Rider and cute things. Slow burn is my OTP. Offline I'm a crafter and do tarot and oracle card readings for those interested.

CIVILIAN NAME & OCCUPATION: "Ebisu" the bookseller. Since paper books aren't that commonly used he's allowed to be the quirky "what is this tiny shop?" guy.

CHARACTER BLURB:
Nanami is the example of a serious, "over this shit" office worker wrapped around a pretty classic tokusatsu hero core. He's very tired and jaded from constantly seeing the bad side of humanity, but in the end is essentially driven by his desire to protect innocent people and do what is right because everyone else won't. He's polite and reserved because it's proper, a very hard stickler for his values and ideas of good conduct, and often comes off really hardline because he's holding back a metric ton of trauma that he doesn't express through crazy like the rest of the traumatized cast. Everyone needs a vacation, but he's just the one saying so.

Under the suit and professional work attitude, he's got those old school hero traits. He won't really judge anyone personally, he hates killing or hurting others, he only really loses his cool if someone is being hurt in front of him, and he fights with a very direct punch style. Also he's currently dead and taken from his death, so he's quietly having to deal with getting thrown into work again after quitting two jobs and then dying on the field. This is fine!

CR YOU WANT:
Anything goes! I'm fine with negative or positive CR and for slowly developing either to evolve into each other. He's a reserved person, so it's all going to be WIP and depend on vibes. I am here for anyone who will connect with him and help him develop, friends, rivals, bullies, people that need a reasonable person to just listen to them, or people to tell him it's okay. but tl;dr all things have been said and done, and now ishmael is left without a purpose... but she's working on it u_u anyway! she's a consummate professional who expects efficiency and rationality from everyone else she works with, but she isn't without her quirks. she's essentially the voice of reason in a group full of weirdos, but at the same time she's kind of a weirdo herself bc of how easily she handles the nonsencical (it's bc of trauma babey). but for all her bluster and aloofness, she sports an obsessive-compulsive neurosis - that has since greatly toned down since her Canto, but the neurosis still remains) - and she is in truth bloodthirsty and violently insane -- but those are normal traits to have when you're living in a hypercapitalistic nightmare that is the City.

He presents as friendly and affable, generally easy to get along with as long as you don't repeatedly push his buttons. Or break the law. Or kill people for fun, or threaten them. Look, he's mostly normal, I promise. Ignore the fact that he murdered his foster parents because they were running an illegal child trafficking trade. Has a soft spot for kids because his own childhood was shitty and in general wants people to be able to live their lives free of fear and oppression.

Most of them even managed it, learning a fun new powerup, the power of friendship, and the joys of not mindlessly questioning authority in the process.

Shion is absolutely a Team Dad, calm, collected, and focused while trying to make sure everybody sleeps and eats okay. He's a strict but caring teacher and frequently a voice of reason and tactics. He also thinks that puns about his own blindness are the funniest thing ever and will make them at every opportunity.

CR YOU WANT: I am always here for any kind of mentoring/teaching/dadding relationships but I would also love for Shion to find that there are folks he can actually lean on in turn. Also just in general but sparring partners, chilling partners, anyone he can practice his puns on while they side-eye him. Yes, he can tell, and he thinks it's hilarious.
CR YOU CAN OFFER: An extremely chill mentor figure that's extremely hard to rile, a swords teacher, or a good sounding board. He can and will get extremely protective over (especially younger) people, and teacher-student bonds are extremely important to him.

Kaworu is very nosy, rude, and just has no social skills at all. He thinks he knows a lot about humans but he really only knows what he's been told. Due to being raised as the final angel, he is very sheltered and only spent a few weeks outside before his death. So he wants to get into the world and experience everything that he realized he was missing. Like friends!

CR YOU WANT: ANYONE WHO WILL PUT UP WITH HIM. Kaworu is a dick and asks inappropriate questions and pushes people's buttons but he's genuinely doing it because he wants to know things and is very curious and eager to continually evolve and grow as he learns. He'll react very positively to any sort of attention being paid his way, especially people who will answer his questions.

Also other teen boys that he can stand too close too. (You're too close Karl, you're just standing too close!!!)

Otherwise adults who are like "boy what's wrong with you" are also always fun.

CR YOU CAN OFFER: Kaworu is actually quite easy to get along with if you can tolerate him. He is very much interested in the concept of friendships even if he has no idea how to form them. So if your character is prickly, Kaworu won't be scared away! He'll just be like "wow, are you so afraid of other people?"
PLANS & GOALS: Definitely want to see how Kaworu adapts to working for LILITH. He was raised to be a giant robot pilot but he got to do it like... once. And his biology lets him cheat so.

A fearsome killer who lost sight of the scenery from better days. He was born into a family of goshi, a lower caste of samurai, and remained in that caste until his eventual death, having been apprehended and prosecuted for a series of killings in the capital. After enduring seemingly endless months of severe torture, he was beheaded and put on display.

As a Servant, Izou’s a guy who is easy to tease, quick to anger, and often insists he isn’t all that bright. Just someone who killed and killed without remorse for the praise and fame, only to be abandoned by everyone he trusted. He’s a puppy that barks loud and kills good, is easily manipulated, and can latch onto and remain loyal to people who are friendly to him.

CR YOU WANT:
► (BERNIE VC) I am once again asking for your money. Let's bet it all, lose everything, and get in trouble with a local gambling cartel. It'd be fun to teach someone how to play cho-han and then immediately lose to them.
► People to be a bad influence to, or to help loosen them up. Those do-gooder types need to get in some trouble.
► Messy, negative CR that can be built up into something positive. I'm talking up close and personal... where they ideally get bloody. Izou is a sore loser that hates being ridiculed by others, so... the potential is endless. His ideals are pretty cut-and-dry at the moment.
► Drunken shenanigans. Drinking buddies who are okay with him spending 30 minutes in the bathroom afterwards, or with him crying into their shoulder about the friends who left him.

CR YOU CAN OFFER:
► Chaos. One moment he takes something you say the wrong way, and in the next he's like... "o-oh, okay".
► Someone easy to harass and/or manipulate. Recent canon example: a "friend" from the old days got him drunk and had him agree to stamp off on some paperwork he didn't even bother reading.
► If you need someone to call you out on your self-sacrificial tendencies, Izou is your guy after a little relationship building. He can't stand when the people he cares about are ridiculously selfless when it comes to throwing themselves into danger over-and-over.
► Izou insists that he doesn't spar since killing is his job, but if you're looking for someone to fight... he's pretty easy to instigate. He can also copy someone's sword-style with a single glance and attack them with it.
► Any... thing, but probably not much for teenage-aged characters. Unless they're fucking with him. Unless you want to hang out with a guy who looks like he'd be crouched outside a convenience store. Then let's do it.

PLANS & GOALS:
► Getting Izou on the right path, where he eventually realizes his hands can help just as much as hurt. I'm mostly playing things by ear at the moment, but that's my long-term goal. Letting him have nice things, decent clothes... earnest relationships. That's a short-term goal. I'm cool with just seeing how things go most of the time.

As a younger teen he went around systematically betraying every single person that did anything remotely nice for him, and his idea of redemption was to go wander around the world learning about politics and how to be a better person. Currently he's been living alone like a weird hermit for well over a year and so his already poor social skills are worse than they were... but he genuinely means well and wants to help people who need it. Please, he needs friends desperately.

They also got to deal with horrifying monsters, the cruel actions of mankind, and their troubling pasts haunting up on them, but don't worry about it.

Rodya is a very laid-back, confident woman who tries to make best out of the current situation. She supports the rest of her team in her own way, even if some might find her lazy and/or a joke of a co-worker. It's not that she can't be serious, but she rather take things at her own pace. She loves gambling and taking risks when the odds are right along with being a foodie. She is very fixated on money as she literally grew up without it. She may not look like much at first glance, but she can surprise people to her advantage.

She also has a heavy past that she avoids talking about it like the plague and forcing her into such a situation will get her to a 'colder' side (being more emotionless, serious, somber and harsh than normal). She grew up in poverty and has witness/survived A Lot Of Shit along with having PTSD where she killed a pawnbroker and stole her money to feed her neighbors & make a name for herself as a hero only for her actions to backfire on her and the people she helped were brutally killed later. Even while she is a master of wearing a mask, her heart is full of holes and she is carrying a lot of mental/emotional weight, holding it all in on herself and not talking about it with anyone. While she did show her past a bit to the company, she still got a lot of work to do on herself, but she's on a path to figure it out (hopefully)...

(If you are familiar with Crime and Punishment, its the same thing only Project Moon doing it's own twist on it-)

Which is honestly great because it's their existential crisis since 8000 years ago but not great when they're fighting monsters.

CHARACTER BLURB: A nameless puppet who goes by "Wanderer", for that is how he best describes himself. A man with no kin, no home, and no destination... though he has been forced to go to school at the prime age of, uh, ~480 years old, give or take.

He used to be very full of hatred and very very mistrustful, until he learned the worst part of his life was a lie schemed by a sick, crazy doctor... so he tried to erase himself from existence to undo all the bad things he had done both directly (because he was Very Hateful) and indirectly (because he was in people's lives). All it did was make the entirety of the Genshin Impact cast forget about him, save for maybe like 2 people. 3 if he's unlucky. Cool.

He's way more mellowed out now, and most of that hatred turned into... self-hatred. He still has a bad personality, but he's just trying to get by in life.
