β–Ά GENERAL.
Hello Outsiders, happy August!

With the conclusion of our fourth kaiju fight and the introduction of a new mechanic, we wanted to take a moment to collect feedback from the playerbase to see how you all are feeling about the new changes being made. We also have some additional announcements to make regarding new game updates coming in the near future.

Thanks for being such great players and being engaged with events and suggesting ideas. We look forward to seeing what everyone does with their characters through the rest of the year and into 2025.

β–Ά APPLICATIONS & GAME CAP.
As of the time of this post, we are at 48 players out of a total of 60. This brings our number of open spots to a total of 12. There are no plans to increase the franchise cap or the player cap at this time.

β–Ά DELAY ON MOD RESPONSES.
The mod team generally tries to address all questions and comments as soon as we can, but the recent influx of player plots along with the testing of new mechanics have resulted in a longer wait time for responses. While we ask players to give us some leeway in getting to questions, sometimes things fall through the cracks. If you haven't heard back on a question/player plot after two weeks, please feel free to reach out to us again.

β–Ά DECISION.
This was the first time we've implemented and utilized a DECISION in which the players could decide future events. Both sides have pros and cons. While the results of choosing to CHASE the kaiju have been revealed, the following is a summary of what would have happened if they chose to ASSIST.

ASSIST: As a result of deciding to help, the Outsiders would stay in the city. They would help recover the Imugi remains and fend off the scavengers/looters. Civilians would be evacuated to new shelters during this time. They would suddenly catch a second trace approaching them and be surprised by the Imugi's arrival. Due to clean up efforts, it would not see its mates' remains but would still attack in rage upon recognizing the Outsiders. Only their base and immediate surrounding areas would be destroyed instead of the wider city area. There would be a very high chance of injury for characters, however, far fewer civilians would die and they would be allowed to keep working in Korea. They would have access to available resources and facilities so they could recover quickly. The TDM would have had a prompt to investigate the other trace (the eggs) and slaying the young, which would hatch and start to cause problems.

In both cases, the Imugi would escape and return in a future event. It will not appear in the TDM. We hope this gives characters time to take in the consequences of their choices and provide a small break from intense action threads while keeping the TDM accessible for new players and characters.

Decisions won't be present in every event because we'd like to be able to shake up future events in other ways, but we'd like to do this again. As this is our first time attempting this, we welcome any specific feedback anyone may have in regard to it.

β–Ά SIDE QUESTS.
We have received questions and suggestions from players regarding ways to interact with the setting more. To facilitate this, we'll be introducing SIDE QUESTS.

Quests can take place in any location that has been previously visited, such as Neo Tokyo, Kyoto, and Las Vegas. Unfortunately, South Korea is currently unavailable as a result of the decision, but it may return and open up again in the future through quests.

Each quest will feature a task that can be accomplished by characters. The task will be kept fairly general so players can have freedom to embellish and add their own details to them. Unless noted, mods will not be playing NPCs involved in quests so players can hand wave or make up interactions in threads. We want to allow flexibility with the quests, so for now, all that we ask is that nothing becomes potentially game breaking, there will be no plot altering without warning, and all sensitive topics are marked.

Furthermore, we want to use these quests to help break down large player plots. We have received some great ideas so far but some of them need to happen over a period of time and can be open to other players in game.

Quests are open for everyone to participate in and can be completed by multiple people. All quests can stand alone but some may become ongoing depending on character involvement. Side quests will go up during relaxed months at the same time as the OOC Intro and CR meme. We are going to start with 3-4 quests in September to see how they go. In the future, we may expand this number. We also welcome players to submit their own quest ideas.

We'll be launching a page for quests in September with our first OOC Intro and CR meme.

β–Ά GENERAL FEEDBACK.
Though we don't post regularly scheduled feedback posts, that doesn't mean we don't want to hear from you! Players are always welcome and encouraged to send us any feedback and/or suggestions at any time, whether it be constructive criticism or ideas for future events that could be fun.

Feel free to leave any general feedback you have about the game, mechanics, or ideas/suggestions on this post. If you don't feel comfortable doing so in public, you can comment on the MOD CONTACT post where all comments are screened.

In terms of the schedule moving forward, we currently have the following in mind. This may be subject to change in order to create more room for player plots, and for people to be able to have more flexibility in regards to the side quests.

β–Ά GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS.
Hello Outsiders! Per our schedule, applications have closed on March 10 - 12:00 AM GMT. As of this round of applications, we have reached the player camp of 60/60. Any applications that have not been processed in this period will automatically be in queue for the next application round.

As a general reminder of our schedule— we have now moved into our regular bi-monthly schedule for applications. We have just completed the TDM SIMULATION, and the next event will be the TEAM BUILDING activity.

β–Ά POWERS.
It has been brought to our attention that there are some players who may have not have listed out their full skills in their original application. We know not many games allow characters to keep their powers and some players ended up over-nerfing or omitting certain powers because they didn't know they could have them in game. Having your powers is part of the fun, so we just wanted to make sure everyone had the opportunity to use the skills and abilities their characters have within their canon. So we just wanted to present the option below for anyone who may have missed a skillset or two:

βœ— Players are welcome to canon update their characters with the full breadth of their updated skills. Please remember to explain each skill, and propose nerfs accordingly. Note that all updates may still be subject to revisions or denied depending on the request. If your character already has access to these powers at their current canon point, they do not need to update their canon point and can simply just request the powers.

βœ— As a reminder, our FAQ lists the abilities and/or skills that are nerfed or discarded upon arrival— in particular, immortality, time/reality bending, and necromancy to name a few. Per our last announcement, we assume that you, the player, understand which powers are nerfed or discarded upon acceptance whether you included it in your application or not. Players who do not comply with the rules will be warned.

βœ— In addition, we have added another power to the list of nerfed and discarded powers: Psychometry. After much consideration and discussion, we've decided that the ability to read memories from objects has the potential to be too game breaking.

β–Ά FEEDBACK POST.
Thank you all for participating in what was our first feedback post. We really appreciate any input we get and love to see the passion everyone has for the game. To touch on a few of the points we saw:

βœ— SETTING: We love how much everyone has engaged with the setting, and we are definitely planning to better showcase the damage done to Neo Tokyo and the changes the city (and world) go through as we progress in the plot. You are also free to make references to previous events when you make plans.

Additionally, most of our events have been focused in NeoTokyo so far with simulations sometimes occurring in other places. In the future, we would like to expand the real world events to other locations so stay tuned.

βœ— KAIJU BATTLES: We are glad people enjoyed the kaiju fight. We are still fine-tuning our RNG mechanic and hope to improve as we move forward.

βœ— PLAYER PLOTS AND SUGGESTIONS: We encourage players to come up with and share their plots and suggestions. We have received some great suggestions for future kaiju, prompts, locations, and rewards for future events and are excited to work with everyone to make Synflux a fun experience for everyone

β–Ά BEASTIARY.
We have added a beastiary page to keep track of the kaiju we have defeated so far. Right now, it's just Shachimon but we'll be adding more as the game progresses. We'll be adding information about the kaiju as well as special recognitions. We hope this will help serve as a record and a rough timeline of major events.
β–Ά CALENDAR.
Scheduling things has been a bit of a whirlwind in also the beginning of a new game, but we will update the CALENDAR to reveal some changes. Here is what we are thinking:

β–Ά GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS.
Hi! Welcome to our first feedback post for the game.

We appreciate everyone's patience while we navigated through our first real cycle of the game, including the kaiju fight. As previously mentioned, we wanted to present an opportunity for us to gain more insight in order to be better fine-tune the game as whole. We have provided section-heads below to cover various areas of the game in order for us to better organize topics, but if there are any other pressing concerns, you're definitely free to start your own threads.

Additionally, there are also a few items we would also like to provide an update on.

As a disclaimer, we reserve the right to change the game as we, as a mod team, feel necessary to. Some suggestions we will take into consideration while some we may not. Either way, we look forward to hearing constructive criticism and any positive comments you as a player base may have. As a mod team, we thank you all for being talented writers apart of our little cyberpunk game!

There will be an Enable Me meme going up on the 25th, GMT. We were going to do a different meme, but think enable me meme will be good timing for this next application round!

β–Ά APPS & GAME CAP.
βœ— Beginning with the next app round, we will be opening additional game slots for a total of 60. This provides us with 26 new player slots currently for the upcoming application cycle on March 5th, GMT.

βœ— Applications that have been in the APPLICATION QUEUE will be processed before applications open. They will begin to be processed when RESERVES open on the 1st.

βœ— We've had a slower start with two application rounds before a kaiju fight and will begin our consistent cycle of bi-monthly applications, each application opening during a TDM SIMULATION / TEAM BUILDING month.

β–Ά KAIJU BATTLE.
Since this is our first real kaiju fight, we would love to see your opinions on this type of battle format. The important thing as always if that while it may not be a perfect system, we just want to ensure that it is fair and fun for people to play in. We also wanted to clarify a few items from general questions we had received about the fights.

βœ— Each kaiju fight typically involves the kaiju having a specific weakness, and a hint to what that weakness is will be dropped in the briefing. This does impact the rolls (as the rolls would then roll with advantage for those who included those details into their attacks).

βœ— Each character gets 2 rolls to it the target NPC. We also wanted to clarify that the rolls do not necessarily dictate what happens to your character. It's fine if that's how you want to run with it, but you also don't have to! We always want people to be able to play what they want!

βœ— Characters who have won an IC prize will not qualify for another prize ... for a good while if at all.

βœ— IC Prizes will be given out, and at the moment we are choosing extra AC points or an item from the Rewards list. We are open to suggestions or how you, as a playerbase, would like to see this play out.

β–Ά REWARDS.
βœ— After each kaiju battle (so, bi-monthly) some new rewards will be added to the rewards page! This month's new rewards will be the Ocean Gem, as seen in the recent Kaiju battle, a tracker ring, and larger vehicles.

βœ— And.. *drumroll* .. we will be adding CHARACTER ITEM REGAINS to the Rewards list! Originally, we wanted to keep this game in its specific universe, but we've seen a desire and excitement for item regains. The cost will be the following and then reflect on the Rewards page:
50 for small item: This can be any small, non-living item that does not possess magical powers.
75 for primitive weapon: A character's specific, non-magical weapon from home such as swords, axes, katanas, spears & polearms.
100 for modern weapon: Such as all types of guns, bazookas, etc.
150 for magical weapon: Weapons from home that have a magical ability, which would include futuristic weapons (such as a lightsaber.) OP nerfing rules still apply.
βœ— The item regains are items ONLY. Characters who may have had their OP ability nerfed will not be able to get their OP ability, but they can get their sentimental item from home back! All of this will be added to the rewards page soon.

βœ— At this time, we are only allowing non-living regains from home. Characters who have arrived with summons or have a creature as apart of their abilities that arrived as their personal item are fine.

βœ— We are allowing 2 points for player created logs as well! For now, REWARDS will not increase, but we may change this in the future. It depends on how this all paces out with the player base.

β–Ά GENERAL REMINDERS.
βœ— We encourage players to take advantage of WORLDBUILDING in this game. Have a technology suggestion? Suggest it over here. What about a business? Suggest it over here.

βœ— Originally, player run businesses weren't allowed, but you could suggest a business and have an NPC run it. We're allowing characters to run businesses now, and when a character drops, the business will be run by an AI bot.

βœ— Memes in the OOC community are always permitted when posted by a player. However, we ask that if it is on a 2nd Month (as in, a kaiju battle month) that you check with us first before posting a meme to make sure it is not the same one we have in mind!

βœ— TLDR: Increasing player cap to 60, accepting application queue during reserves, allowing character item regains, any log counts for 2 points for activity/rewards, new rewards after each monster, characters may run businesses, kaiju battle breakdown, calendar breakdown.
