TEST DRIVE & SIMULATION #4

CONTENT WARNINGS: forced partial nudity, dead bodies

▶ 001. ARRIVAL / CAFETERIA.

It happens in the blink of an eye -- a dash of time. You're taken from where you were. What you were doing.. it isn't important anymore, and slowly, you give up to desire your normal life. When you awake, figures are looking down on you from a surgical table.

"Yeah, this one will do; let's take them to the rest," That's all you see before losing consciousness again, only to wake up in a pod with many others.

"Your questions will be answered soon enough as I'm sure you will have many," a female, robotic voice says.

Just then, your pod opens in a dim corridor with many others. Your new life is about to begin... whether you like it or not.

The pods drain their stasis fluid which wakens each Outsider. When Outsiders emerge from their pod in only their undergarments which have been supplied to them and head to a locker room in the medical bay, to find a towel to dry off with, a set of gray loungewear to wear as LILITH makes the final decision in organizing the Outsider to their rightful teams. If a character has any accessibility needs, they will be found here. It's about then they will feel a sharp pain at the back of their eyes, almost like there’s a foreign body lodged on the inside of their head. This pain will subside quickly as their body adapts to the changes, but there will always be a sensation of something being not quite right. That their bodies have been changed forever. They would be correct in thinking that. In the pod, all Outsiders have been surgically fitted with ocular and brain implants that will enable them to communicate with LILITH and the rest of the crew, and feed them the information they require. Almost like a computer screen has been loaded into their brains, they will see a loading screen as the implant completes its download. A questionnaire will then pop up, waiting for their answer. A voice, robotic and feminine, will also read along in their brain for them.

█ █ █ LOADING COMPLETE … BEGIN ORIENTATION …

Name:
Username:
Civilian Identity:
Age:
Species:
Origin:

What is your fantasy?

The system will give Outsiders one chance to provide a truthful answer and choose their username and civilian identity. Should they refuse to cooperate, the implant will download the answer directly from their brain (and give them a username or civilian name against their will). This questionnaire will then be posted on the network for all to view and reply to. Almost like an ice-breaker, if you will. LILITH wants all their newest recruits to learn about each other!

Outsiders will receive a quick brief about their situation: They will be told that the year is 2278, and they have been taken to Neo Tokyo, one of the last bastions of mankind in a world terrorized by various Kaiju and monsters. Only a third of the population remains, and LILITH has gathered talented people from other dimensions here as a last ditch effort to save humanity. Outsiders are free to continue asking LILITH questions through their implant, but there’s no guarantee they will provide them with a straight answer …

Outsiders will also notice an implant in their dominant wrist. This implant has a barcode in it that will enable them to purchase goods from the local stores in Neo Tokyo. They will receive a starting balance of 10,000 KRYPTOS (about USD 66), which is barely enough for a few good meals, groceries and supplies. They can view their current balance through a hologram window projected by their ocular implant.

Once they leave the medical bay, they’ll be able to grab a quick meal in the cafeteria and mingle with the other Outsiders just waking up. Today’s menu is creamy crab onigiri & ginger salad, all packed neatly in a food ration tray.

That familiar, robotic voice is heard again:

"Greetings, my name is SYNTHIA and I will be taking care of you today while the rest of the crew is busy handling a recent issue. Worry not, my children. You are in safe hands."

▶ 002. CLEAN UP THE LAND OF DREAMS.

After nearly a month of investigation and monitoring everyone’s health, Tokyo Disney is finally cleared. Outsiders will be sent back to Tokyo Disneyland to resume their work. LILITH will order them to go collect the rotting remains of the Yamadenki and any bodies that were left behind from the battle.

When they return, they will find the park is still left in ruin from the battle and the air smells horrible. They will have to sift through the rubble for the remains of Yamadenki, rift mutated corpses, hybrids, and fallen scientists and mercenaries. It’s dirty work but someone has to do it. Luckily, LILITH has provided a sanitation suit that some Outsiders may remember. There are only a few in various colors, and those who reject the sanitation suit will be provided with gloves and encouraged to activate their plugsuit instead. After they’ve removed the bodies, they will be told to help clean up the park. The park has always been a popular place for teenagers to sneak off to and while they can keep the area closed off for the safety of the majority, there’s no way to keep out the most dedicated troublemakers. Some of the rides have some residual charge in their engines and can be ridden.. maybe test drive them for a spin? Nobody has to know you're doing it, right?

Furthermore, LILITH is interested in what remains of the secret labs. Most of the computer hardware and records have already been confiscated but considering how they’ve had almost a whole month to rest, they should be fit and ready to do some heavy lifting, surely. Most notably, LILITH will task the Outsiders with moving and transporting heavy machinery such as the electric generators, refrigerators, freezers, incubators, water distillers, and all sorts of fancy equipment. They will have to find a way to drag all of this out of the tunnels, up to the surface, and to the transport vehicles waiting to take them back to LILITH. If they look around, they may find a few golf carts in the tunnels but whether or not they have keys or even work is to be determined.

Observant Outsiders will spot some men in suits appraising the park and nodding their heads. Could there be plans for a revival of Tokyo Disneyland?

▶ 003. DATAPORTAL TESTING.

Following the clean up efforts at Disney, things begin to happen at LILITH. The engineering department gets to work and it isn’t long until they announce they’ve finally managed to get some of the dataportals running. It seems the Yamadenki remains had some special properties that they could use to stabilize and power the right technology. This is excellent news or LILITH and the administrators get to work communicating with other organizations around the world.

In the meantime, these dataportals need to be tested and Outsiders will be asked to volunteer. Should they agree, the engineers and technicians will explain that they’re going to try a short-distance test first. They still have access to their old base in Kyoto. It was abandoned years ago after a particularly devastating kaiju attack. While they were able to secure most items of importance in their evacuation, it wouldn’t hurt to go back and do another sweep for things that may have been left behind like medical supplies, tools, technology, and food/drink supplies.

Characters will be able to travel back and forth between Kyoto and Tokyo while they test the portals. There are some known effects of portal jumping but whether they start to take effect on the first jump or after a certain amount depends on the person. Symptoms include nausea, headaches, dizziness, and a loss of spatial awareness so they may get into people’s spaces, bump into things, miss targets, or get lost easily.

▶ 004. KYOTO & KAIJU.

Outsiders will be transported to the Old Kyoto Base with a small team of operatives. In terms of structure, the Kyoto Base looks similar to that of Neo Tokyo, with the remnants of a training ground, research labs and dormitories free to explore. Once upon a time, this base was filled with LILITH personnel. What had happened to them, along with all the other residents of Kyoto, is anyone’s guess.

With some work, they’ll be able to kickstart the emergency generators which will be enough to provide the power needed to search parts of the base. Characters can also leave the base and explore what remains of Kyoto. The streets are empty and the city has been abandoned since the attack. The Imperial Palace is still standing, albeit in decrepit conditions from years of neglect, and the once picturesque, historical streets now sit in ruin. Keep searching, and you will see the scars left behind from the attack - monstrous claw marks against a building wall, and forgotten human remains.

With the lack of human interference, Kyoto has become overrun with wild animals such as macaques, deer, foxes and tanuki. A herd of boar-like Kaiju have also taken their place at the top of the ecosystem. This Kaiju, the Yama-Kujira, is of special interest to LILITH.

█ █ █ MONSTER DEBRIEF SHEET
NAME: Yama-Kujira
HEIGHT: 10 meters (adult), 2 meters (infant)
WEIGHT: 200 kg (adult), 60kg (infant)
CLASS: Piglets are harmless, Adults are a moderate threat
LOCATION: Kyoto, Japan
ABILITIES: The adult Yama-Kujira compensate for their terrible eyesight with a vicious attitude. They will charge at everything and everyone at the slightest disturbance, be it the sound of footsteps or even a bird flapping its wings. They have a keen sense of smell and hearing, and sharp tusks that they use to maul their prey. Fiercely territorial, especially near to their nests. Hates loud noises and the colour red. In groups, they have the ability to cause a minor earthquake by stomping into the ground. The Yama-Kujira piglets, on the other hand, are blind, harmless, docile and do not have tusks. May charge ineffectively to practice their skills and are strong enough to knock a person over. They enjoy fruit, nuts and milk.
WEAKNESS: They are virtually blind and rely on their smell/hearing, so taking those senses out will disorientate them. Otherwise weak to being flipped over and has a soft underbelly. Getting their tusks trapped in something will temporarily immobilize them as well.
EXTRA NOTES: Eats primarily vegetation and local wildlife but the adults will kill anything that moves.

█ █ █ MISSION OBJECTIVE:
✖ Eliminate all adult Yama-Kujira within the area.
✖ Lure in and capture infants to surrender to LILITH.
✖ Bring back Yama-Kujira specimens, alive or dead.
✖ Scavenge for useful technology or supplies from around Kyoto and the Kyoto base.

▶ 005. MAID DAY.

While Outsiders test out the portal technology and the engineers make adjustments to make traveling more stable, the administrators will announce they’ve touched base with other organizations around the world and have begun to process travel documents for everyone.

In the meantime, they will have to help do paperwork which includes repeatedly confirming details like their birthdays, hair color, age, blood types, and so on. They will have to fill out multiple forms again and again for administration, insurance, and passport reasons, as well as reasons that just don’t make sense. The paperwork is endless and it’s a lot to keep track of but everything is due on May 10th. To make matters worse, there is the longest line at the immigration office that does not seem to be moving at all. For some reason, paperwork submission needs to be done in person, even with all the advances in technology.

On the day of the deadline, something bizarre happens. Those with style upgrades should be familiar with LILITH’s state-of-the-art clothing-changing technology. On May 10th, nanobots will engulf some Outsiders and overwrite their clothing, forcing them into a maid outfit (or butler outfit, depending on player preference). Seok Dang’s back from his suspension (is that why he’s been so quiet and nobody has seen him around base?), and he was given the task to encourage all the Outsiders to finish their paperwork.

“I’m back, baby! Daddy’s hoooome!! Did you like the frills? Enjoying them? Everyone say ‘thank you Seokdang-oppaaaaa!’. The Captain says you gotta do your paperwork, and some lazy bastards haven’t turned theirs in yet. Unless you wanna be in that cute lacy skirt forever, let’s encourage everyone to do their homework, okay? Well, if you guys decide to just stay like this forever, I ain’t complaining. It’s pretty easy on the eyes. Next time, maybe I'll put you hot kittens in some tight leather. Who knows!”

Outsiders will find themselves dressed in maid costumes until everyone has completed their paperwork, so LILITH is heavily encouraging you to persuade your friends! Once everyone has submitted their paperwork, they’ll be able to uninstall the maid upgrade… but they can keep it as a gift! Those who would like to opt-out can simply have their clothing not be effected, and this prank works with those who have a style upgrade or are in their LILITH given attire (plugsuit or loungewear.)

▶ 006. AFTERWORD.

Welcome to our fourth TDM! All TDM threads are game canon; characters who don't app will be glitched out of this world. As TDM will act as the event, existing characters are heavily encouraged to participate. We encourage this format for top levels: CHARACTER | CANON | CURRENT / NEW CHARACTER. '

There are currently 16 available player slots. New players are welcome to use this TDM to get samples for when APPLICATIONS open.

None of the prompts suit your fancy? Feel free to check out our main base and locations page and make up your own prompts!

Use the code provided in the ARRIVAL prompt if you'd like to participate in the ice breaker and place it in your top level along with your other prompts. Anything such as civilian name or username can be marked as UNDECIDED if you're unsure of what you'd like your character to have for now. Though it says 'Orientation', existing characters can still participate in the ice-breaker.

Please note that all tags in this log will count for 2 reward points each and will count towards May AC.

TDM #4 BREAKDOWN/RECAP (CLICK TO EXPAND)
1. ARRIVAL PROMPT: Newcomers arrive with ocular and brain implants and told a breakdown of the premise with an icebreaker orientation to fill out. Their first cafeteria meal is crab onigiri & ginger salad. Newcomers are placed in gray loungewear while they are being sorted into teams.

2. TOKYO DISNEYLAND CLEAN UP: Outsiders are sent back to Tokyo Disney to gather resources from the Yamadenki attack. Outsiders may wear a sanitation suit or use gloves. Some rides have residual energy should anyone want to try and take them for a spin.

3. DATAPORTAL TESTING: Resources gained from the Yamadenki creature have supplied LILITH with enough energy to use the dataportal to teleport outsiders to a former base location in Kyoto. Using the dataportal may give Outsiders limited side effects.

4. KYOTO & KAIJU: In lieu of a Simulation in Seok Dang's absence, Outsiders who teleport to Kyoto will be given the task to fight and clear out the Yama-Kujira, a boar like creature.

5. MAID DAY: Outsiders must fill out repetitive paperwork, which foreshadows travel in the future, and threatening not to will result in a forced maid outfit, courtesy of Seok Dang and his return.

▶ I. ARRIVAL.
001. — THE BLINK OF AN EYE.

( the hiss of the pods opening is something sterile and unfamiliar, and when she comes to it's with a gasp, the frigid air of the room biting at now exposed flesh. disorientation clouds her, blinking a few times as limbs shift first within the pod, uneasy in the way she finds her footing — one foot against the chilled metal floor, and then the other — it seems to hum beneath her, like something alive. as if it were trying to tell her something, if only she could focus.

it comes to her in fragments, glimpses continually stolen: countless sets of eyes standing above her, voices nothing but a hum that's just too far away to grasp, as if murmuring from another room. 'lets take them to the rest.' the rest. arms wrap tightly about her lean frame, glancing down at the sensation of a foreign fabric, under garments that weren't her own. what's more, she wasn't alone... one after the next the pressure sealing the various pods throughout the room give with a breath. she can't seem to find comfort in the fact that she's in shared company, one gaze just as unsettled as the next.

and then another door opens, ushered toward a locker room in the medical bay where a towel and neatly folded set of loungewear seems to sit in waiting. despite the static confusion that lingers, her body's alert enough to recognize that it's cold, wet from the pod, and so it's only a beat before she's fervently wrapping the towel around her figure, trying to stave off the chattering that's taken to her teeth. the clothes set out for her are quick to follow, a heather grey pair of sweatpants and a sweater that's a little baggy melting into place.

a sigh unravels her at the warmth offered from the articles, but the comfort isn't long before a pain radiates from the middle of her skull, stabbing as it reverberates and knocks her a bit off kilter. palm instinctively presses to her eye, and then a familiar robotic voice greets her. )

To be able to go home... truly home. And for everyone I care about to still be there.

003. — CAFETERIA.

( thumb grazes over the exposed column of her wrist, turned upright where she's perched on one of the swiveling chairs. she can feel the device beneath her skin, something that doesn't belong, robots stirring smoothly about the floor with food ration trays in hand. her stomach gurgles something neglected as the ginger catches her nose, wafting past. she swallows thickly - she really should eat something, but first— )

Sorry, um... ( she drifts, still trying to put together the briefing that'd poured from her ocular device when she felt in no state to absorb it all. hair still soaks into the collar of her sweatshirt, fingers finding themselves woven together. neo tokyo; one third of the population; 2278. merlot hues flit towards the person nearest her. )

What day is it?

▶ II. THE LAND OF DREAMS.
004. — a little help.

( it all feels a little too close to home. the pods, something having been changed about them, the abandoned labs... but she aims to keep herself busy, tucking down those memories from spilling over. it'd felt some shade of heartless devoting herself to plucking the bodies of those she knew so little about from the ground, so she'd reserved herself to their orders of collecting any remaining machinery.

the suit is skin tight and uncomfortable, mask tugged down to rest at her shoulders with a flashlight to guide her way. a wire sparks in the looming, poorly lit stretch of the hall, stopping in place only once she spots someone obscured by a piece of machinery big enough to swallow their frame. )
Oh, don't hurt yourself— ( a beat, and she's at their side, bracing her palm beneath the belly of the equipment to share some of the weight. )

Ah. Guess there isn't any easier way to get all of this out of here, is there?

▶ III. DATAPORTAL TESTING.
005. — to kyoto.

( the remnants of neon still glow eerily, and the base looks as if something that'd merely paused in place. as if those that'd inhabited it had been forced to leave, only able to take what they could carry, what mattered. she can't help but to wonder if what happened here was fated to happen anywhere, like home, the planet's life force dwindling by the day. there's a medkit clutched to her chest, its contents sparse, but still littered with the likes of gauze, bandages, and a half-empty bottle of peroxide.

her first trip had been far more fruitful, the second proves various layers of discomfort that creep up on her one by one. it starts with the distant needling of a headache, something tugging, but the further she presses herself the more her body begins to protest. white specks dance within her vision, and for just a moment, everything goes black— until she's jarred back to the present by the resistance of something solid, another outsider.

the kit clatters to the floor, hand unconsciously fleeing to their arm to brace herself. )
S-Sorry. I— ( a small note, another thundering pull between her temples. ) Must have lost my balance.

▶ IV. MAID DAY.
006. — all that frills.

( it's not as if she's isn't used to a petite skirt, but she normally feels a bit less... exposed than the outfit the nanobots designed for — equipped with a silken bow around her throat and a top cinched tight enough about her waist to steal a breath. of course, there's the manner of the frilly skirt, all snapped together with a pair of lace-trim stockings. UPGRADE COMPLETE! glimmers in the corner of her vision, almost taunting.

[ a. ]   ( you might find her lingering near the living quarters, attempting to loosen the corset's lace at the small of her back when she spots yours. )
I think I'll wait until the line goes down a little bit.

[ b. ]   ( or maybe she's decidedly now in line beside yours glancing back at the long-limbed trail of bodies all with paperwork in hand, seemingly just as endless as the one yawning before them. a cherry tint colors her cheeks — maybe if she can find some way of assisting anyone with questions, the line might budge the slightest bit faster. she feels as if she has to keep smoothing down the back of the skirt to make sure it covers... everything, heat swelling to her chest.

mostly, she keeps to herself, but she certainly wouldn't mind a bit of small talk to distract her from it all. )

▶ WILDCARD & OOC.
( i figured i noveled enough despite being tempted to throw up multiple different circumstances for each prompt! arrival is open to other freshly awakened outsiders or maybe a little comfort from someone that's been here awhile. truly feel free to throw anything and everything at her, including the kyoto & kaiju prompt. she's pretty well versed in kicking monsters' tushes, so she could be a decent help, whether needed or unexpected by yours. feel free to PM me here or add me on plurk @ [plurk.com profile] rosefret to discuss anything else!

as a note, i'm still deciding on a specific canonpoint, but thinking of taking tifa from somewhere in the heart of rebirth, for those familiar. p.s. i had to with the maid pic, ok. sue me. )

no, choso does not like the cafeteria, but he recalls his first time finding it, and the voices that stood out in the cacophony to guide him along. (raidou, quiet and helpful; kaede, odd and hungry; bakugo, a beacon) so he meanders, hands in his baggy sweatpants pockets with an eye out for— for—

Right. ( tone crackles back into place, as if unused for the hundreds of years that stretched between home and here. eventually, hues find the boy beside her again, sorrowful features and the dark spikes of his hair. ) Thank you.

( in a way, it does feel as if she could curl up within his broad shadow, the grey clothing seeming to fit him far better than it did her. she doesn't know him, but he's gracious enough to sit beside her, still, in the trenches of where he'd once been. the information he offers only causes further questions to bloom in its wake, but yet another robot stirs itself up at her side, offering her one of the rations with an insistent YOU MUST EAT, TO BE WELL.

albeit reluctantly, she takes hold of the tray, the mechanical being only leaving her once she's set it down before her, apparently satisfied.

when she speaks again, it's quietly, a murmur shared between the two — a needless effort, given the implant and device burrowed within her. )

Mhm. [ Kaito doesn't mind waiting for her to come around. She doesn't look very familiar, and he'd like to believe he's gotten a good look at most of the Outsiders by now. Must be a newbie. Poor girl.

When she finally acquiesces, the empath closes the distance and settles scarred fingers on the well-wound laces. Deft movements make quick work of the lace, loosening the corset's hold on her body... And maybe a little too much, oops.

Ignorant to the oversight, Kaito drones on. ]
You shouldn't wait too long, though. It took me twenty hours to get my paperwork done. Biggest pain in the ass ever.

[ the general experience of the dataportals are... awful, to say the least. he'd be content to stay in his LILITH assigned room for another twenty year nap, but the ocular implants and, well, everything else drives the relief of sleep far from him. there's nothing left for it but to venture out as directed, to glean whatever they can in the nebulous hope of returning home.

a familiar presence makes it easier. he reaches out instinctively to steady her, a hand on her arm as his other dips to catch the falling medkit. tifa's usual steadfastness and kind reassurance was something even he could notice, despite his penchant for keeping to himself. given the circumstances, the minor disruption of it is to be expected.
]

You've gone more than once. [ through the portal, he means. once tifa looks a little more steady, he releases his hold and hands the kit back to her. his own temples throb, a dull ache that chafes against him. ] Let's keep moving.

[ he knows better than to turn her back. at least this way she can have someone to lean on. ]

( the weight of his arm does more to steady her than she'd like to admit, but it's more than just something to keep her upright. his voice, a low timbre and reserved as it's always been, serves as a reminder that she wasn't alone. that among it all, there was something familiar, something a little closer to home, in this world they'd been drawn to. )

I'll be okay. ( more a means to assure him than anything, an instinctive comforting that slips from her tongue without thought.

much as her body might beg her to rest, at least for a little while before making another trip, now wasn't the appropriate time to acknowledge such a thing. there's no telling what roamed the desolate streets, what lie tucked within the alleyways or waiting in the mouth of a seemingly inconspicuous lot.

she catches the strain in his tone, when it greets her again, taking the medkit back to her side with a breath that seemingly displays her gratitude. )

Do you think there's anywhere else we should look, before heading back?

( Geto's passing, deep in his thoughts and radiating a level of disagreement most would find off-putting, brows furrowed. He's therefore a little surprised to be addressed, pausing adjacent to her table and glancing down at her, askance. She looks distracted. Perhaps she would have spoken to anyone. A part of him, tired and miserable that he is, thinks to just ignore her. But Geto does actually know the positives of networking and he's actually not above putting on a fake face. So instead of turning on his heel he hums, semi-thoughtful. )

May 1st, I think they said. Which is funny because the last I checked it was December 24th. But the year's also different so why not the day?

( If there's disdain it doesn't show on his face. Instead his mild-mannered expression remains even. He's gotten very good at luring the monkeys into a false sense of security after all. )

You're new too? I wonder how many of us there are.

( in a different time, a different place, she might've recognized that his demeanor alone was one to suggest he'd prefer his solace not be severed. she's not exactly at her best, a little worn still from the stasis still dampening the ends of long, black tresses and the implant that seemingly hums in the bed of her skull. )

I think it's a lot more than just the year that's different. ( it doesn't feel like gaia, or any place she's ever known, but how could she be so sure what's real and what isn't, with everything she's been told? she's still layering through it all, the device keen to answer only the most basic of questions, while the rest left her with a quiet, unnerving static. )

Most of the people here, at least. ( hues flit around the room with the words, some handling the... replacement better than others. )

A strange assortment of soldiers, I'll give them that.

( He looks her over again, a furrow between his brows. ) There'll be more questions than we'll get answers, probably. And I wouldn't trust the ones we do get given freely in the first place. At least they've given people a place to get their bearings and figure that out for themselves.

[ A man (a very beautiful man so at least he's kind of rocking this) who is likewise in a maid dress is coming through the living quarters, and one can hear him coming from a mile away due to the loud clacking of his heels against the floor (that is absolutely part angry-stomping and part "definitely not used to heels"). He's flushed with anger and embarrassment, scowling so deeply you'd think someone pissed in his cereal, and yet the low grumbling in his throat and dangerous guy aura he can sometimes muster like this is completely softened by the way his silky, silvery hair curtained around his head sways back and forth in tandem with the swishing of his long frilly dress as he walks.

What a cool guy you're about to meet, Tifa. (i'm so sorry)

Yzak is so engrossed in his own suffering (because that's what this is to him) that he barely notices Tifa until she speaks to him. And then in a likewise cool-guy manner, when he looks at her, he— immediately looks away, almost by reflex, somehow going redder because he can't handle maid outfits in general (thanks canon trauma), but skant maid outfits on a woman who is addressing him? He may die today as a result of all of this.

At the very least, he's so determined to not look like a total clown that he tries to recover from this pit of embarrassment as best he can. ]

( she notes the reddened hue that stretches across the bridge of his nose, colors the tips of ears that peek through a silver, sharp curtain of hair. misery is sort of softened by company, isn't it? not that she gains any sort of comfort in knowing he's just as uncomfortable as the rest, but the nanobots seemed to have paid a particular attention to every little detail of his outfit, down to the heels too-tightly holding him in place.

her own corset-laced get up might seem a bit more appropriate for her, but honestly she might as well be wearing nothing given the way she nearly spills out of it, having to measure her breaths given the snug fastening of the dress about her midsection. )

I'm not sure, but I don't think I've seen it move at all. ( papers in one hand, her opposite crosses bashfully over her front, the lace of that silky bow about her throat itching as she swallows. )

You can, ah— ( a shift in place, her own cheeks colored with a faint scarlet. ) wait here with me, if you want to. It's a little more comfortable, at least?

Ugh, can these people do anything right!?

And then we have to get punished for it with — with this! [ he waves a hand over himself, gesturing to his cute frilly maid dress that he can barely stand to look at any more than he wants to look at Tifa right now.

But ... alas, it would be rude not to since he's being addressed, and Yzak strives so hard to be cool and also a gentleman. So with a deep breath in and a squaring of his shoulders, he turns his gaze back to her when she offers her company while they wait. ]

... Okay.

[ It's a plus for him, too, when he goes over to join her because he's a little more out of the way and thus a little less perceived by all in this getup. ]

I'm beginning to wonder if the real people to blame here are the ones processing these papers, and not any of us slacking off.

[ and speaking of pushing -- well, there's a woman next to him, using him to brace herself. (he's a kind of scrawny teenager, but holds up surprisingly well despite that) -- and he automatically goes to help steady her. he'd be irritated, but she's too apologetic. so he just mumbles ]

( she won't prop all of her weight onto him, rest assured, just enough to steady herself through that nauseating pull. red swarms to the heart of her cheeks, once she's a bit more level-headed, apologetically grimacing as her hand withdraws. )

Y-yeah. Thank you. ( he seems to be weathering the portals much better than she is, at least in the fact that he can keep himself upright. maybe she'd gotten a little overzealous after her first trip, too eager to make herself useful, but she's determined to make it back.

the desolate street surrounding them is an unsettling company, a stale breeze passing through as if a forgotten breath, stirring at her hair when she makes to press against her temple, as if it might serve to balm the ache. )

[ he mumbles something noncommittal in response to the thanks, like the dumb embarrassed teen that he is, turning his gaze away from her and down the abandoned streets. ]

[ Stuck in the massive line of people is someone who is just.. all around quite massive himself, and the nanobots couldn't show him any mercy with the outfit downloaded onto his body. Maybe it was a mistake, because the outfit is also splitting at the seams as if it wasn't fitted properly for him. He has half the thought to take the ridiculous attire off, but he had procrastinated on his paperwork and capitalized on this, showing a bit of leg here and there out on the street. Apparently frilly dressed, muscular men are a hot commodity in the year 2278, because Toji just scored some extra KRYPTOS for pachinko spending for simply doing nothing but looking nice. It isn't like he has any shame left anyway; in fact, he really hopes his clan is rolling in their grave in another universe right now. Time to deliver his paperwork so he can leave base in something more comfortable.

Right. The outfit. Not only was it a maid, but it also was a cat, and he's jingling somewhere on his body but he hasn't gotten the notion to try and pinpoint the source. He catches glimpse of a dolled up girl near him (because who wouldn't, look at her!) and jams the side of his clipboard into her shoulder.

Gruffly: ]

Hey, girl. Do this for me.

[ as Tifa may see, all that is filled out is his name. Why was he in line if it wasn't filled out to begin with? ]

( she doesn't realize he's talking to her, at first. she's too busy trying to contain the fluster that's painted itself furiously across her cheeks, trying to keep from crumpling the papers in hand while simultaneously keeping that too-frilly skirt from inching up any higher when she so much as takes a step forward. maybe it's a shame she weren't more comfortable with it, but she's already in an unfamiliar environment, quite literally spilling out of her dress on top of it isn't making the adjustment period any smoother.

but then the corner of his clipboard is jammed into the round of her shoulder, seemingly drawn back to the present as she blinks over at him. )

. . . ah ? ( lips part, and honestly, she's dealing with enough of an onslaught to add processing why it was the nanobots had chosen to dress him up as... was it a cat maid? the sheer size of him reminds her of barret, hulking to the point where it was nearly obstructive, fabric tight enough as not to hide so much as a single ridge of his chest, abdomen... gaze bashfully reverts to his with a quick sweep. )

I, um. I don't think that's how it works. ( a beat, noting the fields on paperwork extended towards her were glaringly blank. ) I wouldn't even know what to fill in for you.
assassinsgreed: (( 2. ))

[personal profile] assassinsgreed 2024-05-04 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Don’t matter. Just fill it out.

[ He’s certain she could probably come up with some assumptions about him. He just doesn’t want to do it. In fact, he was going to possibly threaten the faculty if they demanded all of this crap from him. Toji isn’t one to really instigate a fight, despite being a tremendous fighter, but after all of the bullshit this organization has put him through, he’s beginning to have enough. Uprising against LILITH, nobody has really tried, but what would happen if they did? They have a lot of widely capable people here who could.

Inquisitive, if Tifa’s paperwork is in view anywhere, he’s gonna try to take a peek. ]

Bet you didn’t even finish your own.
