▶ 001. TEST DRIVE #1 / SIMULATION LOG
TEST DRIVE & SIMULATION #1
▶ 001. ARRIVAL / CAFETERIA.
It happens in the blink of an eye -- a dash of time. You're taken from where you were. What you were doing.. it isn't important anymore, and slowly, you give up to desire your normal life. When you awake, figures are looking down on you from a surgical table.
"Yeah, this one will do; let's take them to the rest," That's all you see before losing consciousness again, only to wake up in a pod with many others.
"Your questions will be answered soon enough as I'm sure you will have many," a female, robotic voice says.
Just then, your pod opens in a dim corridor with many others. Your new life is about to begin... whether you like it or not.
The pods drain their stasis fluid which wakens each Outsider. When Outsiders emerge from their pod in only their undergarments which have been supplied to them and head to a locker room in the medical bay, to find a towel to dry off with, a set of gray loungewear to wear as LILITH makes the final decision in organizing the Outsider to their rightful teams. If a character has any accessibility needs, they will be found here. It's about then they will feel a sharp pain at the back of their eyes, almost like there’s a foreign body lodged on the inside of their head. This pain will subside quickly as their body adapts to the changes, but there will always be a sensation of something being not quite right. That their bodies have been changed forever. They would be correct in thinking that. In the pod, all Outsiders have been surgically fitted with ocular and brain implants that will enable them to communicate with LILITH and the rest of the crew, and feed them the information they require. Almost like a computer screen has been loaded into their brains, they will see a loading screen as the implant completes its download. A questionnaire will then pop up, waiting for their answer. A voice, robotic and feminine, will also read along in their brain for them.
█ █ █ LOADING COMPLETE … BEGIN ORIENTATION …
The system will give Outsiders one chance to provide a truthful answer and choose their username and civilian identity. Should they refuse to cooperate, the implant will download the answer directly from their brain (and give them a username or civilian name against their will). This questionnaire will then be posted on the network for all to view and reply to. Almost like an ice-breaker, if you will. LILITH wants all their newest recruits to learn about each other!
Outsiders will receive a quick brief about their situation: They will be told that the year is 2277, and they have been taken to Neo Tokyo, one of the last bastions of mankind in a world terrorized by various Kaiju and monsters. Only a third of the population remain, and LILITH has gathered talented people from other dimensions here as a last ditch effort to save humanity. Outsiders are free to continue asking LILITH questions through their implant, but there’s no guarantee they will provide them with a straight answer …
Outsiders will also notice an implant in their dominant wrist. This implant has a barcode in it that will enable them to purchase goods from the local stores in Neo Tokyo. They will receive a starting balance of 10,000 KRYPTOS (about USD 66), which is barely enough for a few good meals, groceries and supplies. They can view their current balance through a hologram window projected by their ocular implant.
Once they leave the medical bay, they’ll be able to grab a quick meal in the cafeteria and mingle with the other Outsiders just waking up. Today’s menu is stewed pork, vegetables, and rice, all packed neatly in a food ration tray. It doesn’t look too appetizing, but this isn’t exactly a thriving economy.
That familiar, robotic voice is heard again:

"Greetings, my name is SYNTHIA and I will be taking care of you today while the rest of the crew is.. tasked with their other duties. Worry not, my children. You are in safe hands. Please enjoy your complimentary meal which LILITH has carefully prepared. You may then head to your quarters are explore our BASE using the map provided. LILITH has been kind of enough to also offer a festive party for you all. You should all be grateful."
▶ 002. THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS.
With no recent seismic activity, LILITH is confident that Neo Tokyo is at a relative calm - that there are no expected Kaiju encounters for at least the next few weeks. This is the perfect timing for a little festivity, to raise the morale of the Outsiders. LILITH wants its recruits to be well, both physically and mentally after all. It’s time to give back! And so, the planning for the first ever LILITH Christmas Party 2277 begins …
Outsiders will be assigned with various tasks to help with the organizing of the Christmas Party. Unfortunately, even if the party is meant for them, they will still be expected to put in effort to make it happen. Duties include:
🎄Making a trip to the local Neo Tokyo KFC to pick up a massive catering order of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, fries, fried chicken sandwiches, fried chicken wraps and fizzy drinks. Outsiders will have to work together to get the food back to the main base while it’s still hot and fresh or risk disappointing everyone.
🎄Festive decorations! Unfortunately, LILITH is providing no help with this, so Outsiders can either buy cheap decorations from the local stores in Neo Tokyo, or get creative with whatever happens to be around. LILITH did provide a holographic tree, at least? They’ve also provided what appear to be sprigs of artificial mistletoe, but that’s the extent of how far they’re helping with decorations.
🎄Entertain each other! LILITH is mostly depending on the alcohol available to provide the entertainment, but there are karaoke machines and microphones for Outsiders to enjoy. A whole catalogue of holiday songs and other popular songs are available. Christmas movies are also available, but they appear to be generated by A.I. so beyond having some stereotypical Christmas-like themes, they might not make the most sense.
🎄Clean up. It’s back to business as usual once the party’s over, and all Outsiders will be expected to take down their decorations and clean up the mess from the party.
The droll work aside, food and alcohol will be provided abundantly at the party, and from the meager rations being served at the cafeteria, it’s easy to guess that this isn’t a common occurrence. Outsiders are welcome to chat, mingle and relax with the time they have before things start to ramp up.

▶ 003. THE PARTY CONTINUES (?).
After everyone’s settled in, those sprigs of mistletoe will light up very briefly, and a code will be transmitted directly into the brain implant of some Outsiders. Those Outsiders will feel a sense of calm or merry that seems to have surfaced from nowhere, and a desire to engage in physical contact - be it a hug, holding hands, or a kiss. The effect will wear off once they have obeyed that subliminal command, and walking away from the party can cancel it as well.
What’s that about? Well, LILITH might be testing some new persuasive technology …

"Hey, man, sorry I wasn't around to see your welcoming party! I was too busy █ █ █ing, but I'm back now! My name is Seok Dang. I heard you guys will be simulation training with me today! Try not to get killed! .... Haha, I'm just playing. That can't really happen. I don't think.. Anyway, I'll go easy on ya this time."
▶ 004. SIMULATION #1.
At different times during the week, Outsiders will be summoned into the simulation room and instructed to don their LILITH-issued plugsuits. They will then be paired or grouped up to conduct a battle simulation. After being ushered into the training grounds, the room will turn pitch dark, and a briefing sheet will be projected from their eye implant.
They will be able to access the briefing sheet at any time during the simulation by simply asking to see it. After each Outsider has read the mission brief, the simulation will begin, and they will find themselves right in the middle of Paris, the city and capital of France. The city looks to be under siege with Kaedan running amok. Though they aren’t fast creatures, their numbers alone are enough to put a large part of the city in ruin; with several buildings falling apart from being doused in acid, fires breaking out from vehicles crashing in the frenzy, and people in all states of suffering and devastation (some burning from the flames and acid, others screaming as they are eaten alive). Those familiar with the city might notice many landmarks of note (the Eiffel tower and the Louvre, for example). Sightseeing is possible in these landmarks as they were coded to be quite accurate to reality, if you ignore the screaming and monsters around you. There are residential buildings, shops and government buildings as well, but less attention was paid to their coding, with many apartments looking quite similar on the inside. VR isn’t perfect, so there might be some funny glitches occurring as well (like NPCs being stuck to a wall or eating their shoe like it’s pasta).
Outsiders will encounter many different rescue and kill scenarios, many of them testing their physical strength, their tactical knowledge and their morality. (We will leave this to players to make up for themselves.) Within the simulation, pain feels very much ‘real’, as do every other sight, sound and sensation, and Outsiders leave the simulation and find themselves in the break room if they are ‘killed’ during it. Outsiders who refuse to participate will be heavily encouraged to do so. They might find the monsters particularly interested in hunting and eating them or they might see a familiar face or voice within the crowd of cowering civilians.
At the end of the simulation, everyone’s score is laid out above their heads in a hologram for all to see. Somehow ended up with negative rescue points from killing more people than you save? Well, you might have some explaining to do.

█ █ █ MONSTER DEBRIEF SHEET:
NAME: Kaendan
HEIGHT: 2 m
WEIGHT: 90kg
CLASS: Gastropoda, Omnivorous (eating plant and animal matter, including humans)
THREAT LEVEL: EASY when cornered alone, INTERMEDIATE when in numbers.
LOCATION: Paris, France (Simulation)
ABILITIES: Acidic slime, which can spit out from its mouth. Use of slime to climb most surfaces. Can surround itself in a cocoon of acid. Teeth contain poison. Body is rubbery, so it can withstand some punching.
WEAKNESS: Heat, salt, dissection. Must be near water source to make all that slime.
EXTRA NOTES: Will use the slime to digest its victims and then eats them once they are melted.
█ █ █ MISSION OBJECTIVE:
✖ Complete destruction of the invasive Kaendan colony before it destroys the city and its civilians.
✖ Rescue of civilian lives
✖ Organize safe and orderly evacuation of civilians to the designated emergency shelters
✖ Protection of safe zone from Kaendan
✖ Preservation of infrastructure, with special attention to government buildings and historic monuments
EXTRA NOTES: Each Kaendan killed equates 1 KILL POINT, and each civilian rescued equates 1 RESCUE POINT. Killing civilians, whether on purpose or by accident, results in rescue points being subtracted. Every Outsider’s score will be tallied up after the simulation ends.

▶ 005. AFTERWORD.
Welcome to our first TDM! All prompts are optional but heavily encouraged. All TDMs are game canon; characters who don't app will be glitched out of this world. Don’t suit your fancy? Feel free to check out our main base and locations page and make up your own prompts! Please shoot TDM-related questions below.
Use the code provided if you'd like to participate in the ice breaker and place it in your top level along with your other prompts. Anything such as civilian name or username can be marked as UNDECIDED if you're unsure of what you'd like your character to have for now.
Have fun with the simulation and feel free to NPC the monster provided along with your character's score and outcome. This is similar to how monster fights will occur.

001. A.
To save the man that inspired them to become who they were now.
Still reeling from recovery, his own revival, the rush of adrenaline from the pods, and everything else (pain behind his eyes and on his wrist included), Katsuki seems to just stare for a second or two at the familiar sight of that green fluff of hair, half wondering if it's simply some hallucination from the inter-dimensional travel. And yet, if they were really pulling people from any world... strong people... people that could save...
Why the fuck would they pass him up?
...
Watching the nerd trip over fucking nothing and almost face plant into the ground, saved only by floating in an awkward position with spinning arms... Katsuki answers that previous question. That's why.
Fucking Deku.
A strong hand crushes the back of Izuku's collar into a fisting grip before Katsuki hauls him back upright, heedless of whether he throttles him in the process.]
These fuck ups. They grabbed the No. 2 when they already got No. 1.
no subject
Still, that familiar growl gets Izuku to stop struggling and lets himself be hauled fully back, looking over his shoulder to confirm what his ears had heard. Which was...an insult. Yep, that's Kacchan in spades. ]
Technically speaking neither of us has been ranked officially as heroes yet...and neither of us was number one or two on the last exams. [ Though they were three and four respectively. Izuku debates shaking Katsuki's hand off, but actually he kind of doesn't want the grip to stop. Well, he wouldn't mind if Katsuki stopped pulling but it's nice to know this isn't a hallucination or hologram or...something.
Like Katsuki, Izuku thinks that if strong people were being recruited, it makes sense that his counterpart ended up here. Though there could maybe have been a better time for recruitment, maybe. How does this effect the battlefield back home, exactly? ]
no subject
Which brings more than a million questions, but they'll have to deal with them one at a time. Katsuki's at least been updated (and calmed down) before arriving at the locker rooms, so Izuku's not confronted by a round of explosions and Katsuki attacking one of the NPCs to threaten them for answers. It's a relief to see the other boy here, even if the blonde's irritated they kidnapped one of his classmates as well. Who the fuck wants to see someone they know got captured?!
Katsuki lets go once Izuku looks back at him, scowling like normal, but not in a rage.]
Tch. You're fucking rambling like a nerd again. Guess you're okay. [Leave it to Izuku to start out the conversation with an analytical response to his insult. Katsuki bristles a little at the reminder and deliberately decides to wring out the stasis fluid from his undergarments in front of Izuku, all the while staring him in the face in a pointed "threat" promise.]
I'll be the number one hero and you fucking know it. [Or else. Then snaps the material to the side to at least attempt some form of drying it before he starts spreading it out absent mindedly in his hand to keep occupied while they talk.]
You're going to help these people, aren't you.
no subject
The "or else" has zero effect because that's the one argument Izuku's always willing to have with Katsuki, though he doesn't even have the decency to scowl or look anything other than worried. ]
You're gonna have to fight me for that one, Kacchan. [ Number one or number two. In actuality, that's something they're probably going to trade back and forth in the future, but eventually Izuku will probably find a lot of enjoyment in that. His gaze drops to Katsuki's chest, where he thinks he saw the worst damage earlier. ]
...And, well, yeah. You were already planning to, right?
no subject
He did have serious injuries, but since the place had spent time healing people in the medical bay before sticking them in their pods (that Katsuki's assumption at least), the explosive hero isn't swaddled in bandages. Though the pain and ache of those injuries and quick healing is fucking everywhere. At least his blood isn't exploding inside his body.]
Bring it on, Deku! [Sparks pop and snap around one hand, pop bombobom, the same cocky snarl twisting his mouth in aggressive response to that eternal challenge. Some part of him wonders if there even will be a hero ranking later on, considering the issues that sort of display caused with the villains and the populace. Who knows. It's not something that'll happen here.
Katsuki ignores the look at his chest.]
Che! Don't think for me! I'll decide for myself once they tell us why I should give a shit.
[Mostly he wants to know what's going on back home, because if these people ripped them out of the war and now All for One is tearing All Might in half and Shigaraki's killing the rest of their family and friends, Katsuki's going to rampage.]
no subject
C'mon, we should go and eat something. I got told where the cafeteria is...a-and, I don't know, so far none of my questions got real good answers. But...yeah. If people are in trouble, I do want to help. It's just...
[ When Izuku trails off, he starts walking, pulling Katsuki with him. He probably doesn't have to finish the sentence when their hangup is the same thing. ]
no subject
Don't pull me, Deku! [He can find the damn cafeteria on his own. Not that he's going to leave Izuku here in the locker room either. Though he does pick up his pace when Izuku moves, purposefully getting ahead of him even if they're walking side by side. Yeah, he knows what Izuku's trailed off comment was about.] Fucking kidnappers.
no subject
Though Izuku's eyes narrow after a second. ]
Wait...this isn't a competitive thing, is it? You're trying to get ahead of me in case there's an attack! [ Why does that sound like an accusation... ]
no subject
It's not like he's had to walk with Izuku to get to places plenty of times in their high school year.]
What the fuck- THEY TOLD US TO GO EAT!! What kind of shit do you think's in a fucking cafeteria?!
[Dodge.]
no subject
no subject
And if they don't want someone to hit first and ask questions later, maybe they shouldn't kidnap people out of a WAR and then wake them up with zero commentary and free roam!]
no subject
Well, in that case!
no subject
You can't catch up to him when he already had a head start cause he was smarter and thought ahead! Nyeh nyeh nyeh!
THERE IS A REASON TO BE IN FRONT! IT'S CALLED BEING FIRST!!]
In that case what, Second Place?
no subject
Uh - [ Also, "Second Place"...is that his new nickname or something? Izuku weirdly misses "Deku". Or Katsuki's hilarious attempts to use "Izuku". ] - you're worried.
no subject
What hurts?
[Okay so this is obviously not a good way to prove he IS NOT WORRIED but here he is, eyes glaring at Izuku, daring him to say "it's fine" when he just proved it's not.]
no subject
Uh. [ His mouth opens. It goes to say "nothing" like a lying liar who lies and even gets through the first syllable before Izuku sort of hesitates, the word left unfinished. ]
Uh. [ Because if he lies, then Katsuki for sure won't be telling the truth... ] ...kind of everything. What about - what about you?
no subject
That "uh" comes out and Katsuki curls his fist, almost silently threatening the other hero. Don't use that damn response. He knows Izuku's not completely fine either. Though honestly, Katsuki doesn't know if Izuku had any kind of injuries. The last time he saw him was when Izuku got yanked through the portal. And then the briefest of moments when they met eyes and joined hands before Izuku was helping Katsuki X Catapult himself to All Might.]
Was it from the war? [Now he's curious too. But... guess it's tit for tat this time. Izuku didn't lie so he gets a gruff, honest response.] Chest, arm, and head the most. Everything aches.
no subject
So he wets his lips. ]
It, er, stops you from getting enough oxygen while using it. Now that it's been - evolved like it has been inside One For All. And, uh, using it for more than five minutes means, well - [ A lot of retribution after the fact. Since he's not currently totally incapacitated, Izuku actually was healed of much of the effects he should have felt, but he still used it, and it wasn't all waved away. ]
no subject
They knew up to smokescreen and fa jin, but did he ever mention that last one to them, considering the Second was still being pretty vague about it even to Izuku in his head while he was heading towards the battlefield...
As far as Katsuki knows, Gearshift was a new support item that crosshair eyes girl whipped up right before the war started. Though that quick tongue slip tells him a summary's coming.]
So you were suffering from oxygen deprivation. [The way Izuku trails off after that "well..." is concerning, but he's obviously not turning blue, so Katsuki assumes he's been healed the same way Katsuki has been.]
no subject
It changes the speed things accelerate at. I used it on you just before... [ Well. Here. Izuku gestures around, just to sum it up, assuming Katsuki will be able to realize just how much extra force was thrown into Izuku slingshotting him away. Every piece of One For All in one desperate last ditch effort. ]
The time limit is five minutes. Any longer using it and I won't be functioning, he said. I could feel it already back then, it was harder to breathe properly.
no subject
So that's what that was. [He knew Izuku had done something right before releasing Katsuki towards All Might. That also answers Katsuki's question on what Izuku remembered. So they really had kidnapped the two from the same moment. Bastards. The Quirk raises some questions, but they won't be able to mess with it here.]
Continuously using it or cumulative? [Katsuki curiously wants to check it out, because secret nerd and all. He'll have to accept verbal explanation for now.] But it only makes it harder to breathe. Otherwise you're dead.
[Duh, though considering what happened... he's hoping Izuku's not on a last 5 minutes of his life to end Shigaraki.]
no subject
As to whether or not he's dead...Izuku shrugs and looks away at the word, frowning just a little bit. He's not really sure; he's heard some people discussing whether or not this is life or something after it, and the truth is with how things were going and how much power he'd been expending, Izuku just doesn't know what the outcome of that battle will be. Would have been. He hadn't really been thinking about his own survival at all. ]
Harder to breathe and then no moving after it's shut down.
no subject
So you can activate it on one or a few items for five minutes per item? Or more "in the next five minutes" you can affect things?
[He's thinking ahead, whether the application can enable them to set up traps or if everything needs to be started and finished within the time limit. Katsuki has no intention of sitting by and letting Izuku hurt himself. Not unless it's the only option left. He's seen the guy in a ragged enough state twice... He doesn't want to see him in worse (since he didn't get to actually see Izuku in a coma because those fucking extras stopped him). Maybe that's a good thing.
And Katsuki's quickly realizing that was a pretty sucky choice of word considering everything going on and what they came from. He heaves a sigh and rubs a hand through his hair.]
I didn't mean we're dead here. [Not that he knows, since the summary of their current state and being here leaves a lot of questions to ask.] I meant are you going to asphyxiate yourself to death after you use Gearshift for the full 5 minutes.
[Which Izuku answered; Katsuki's only clarifying himself. For Izuku's comfort.]
no subject
And he knows Izuku absolutely would use a Quirk he was forewarned would fuck his shit up if he thought he had to. How many times had he done that with one For All already? A lot. A lot is how many. Izuku ends up leaning against the wall since they've paused all secret huddle style, and he feels like slumping against something. The wall is safer than, say, Kacchan. ]
I can definitely turn it off before the five minutes are up, but powering it on again would take too much effort before some time passed, so it's kind of a "one shot" thing.
no subject
As it is, since they don't know...]
You should focus on using it sparingly then. [Even though he says that, it's obvious Izuku's going to train it at full blast because why the fuck would he not? He folds his arms across his chest, thinking about his own body. What else has been unlocked? He remembers the feeling before that ballsack-face's lackey punched him. The difference... but he never got the chance to act against chibi-nutsack-face before they yanked him here.]
Aa. What if it's just one thing at a time?
[Use it in small spurts.]
