TEST DRIVE #13

TEST DRIVE MEME #13
CONTENT WARNINGS:body modification (new arrivals); body modification (npcs)

▶ 001. ARRIVAL / CAFETERIA. (NEO TOKYO BASE).

It happens in the blink of an eye, a dash of time – you're taken from where you were. What you were doing... it isn't important any more, and slowly, you give up the desire of your normal life. When you awaken, figures are looking down on you from a surgical table. "Yeah, this one will do. Let's take them to the rest." That's all you see before losing consciousness again, only to wake up in a pod with many others.

"Your questions will be answered soon enough, as I'm sure you will have many," a female, robotic voice says.

Just then, you regain consciousness in a pool of stasis liquid along with many others. You realize you are underground. Your new life is about to begin... whether you like it or not.

Welcome to Neo Tokyo. Pods drain their stasis fluid, which wakes each Outsider and they emerge from their pod in only undergarments. Directed to a locker room in the medical bay, they find a towel to dry off with and a set of gray loungewear to wear as LILITH makes the final decision in assigning the Outsiders to their rightful teams. If a character has any accessibility needs, they will be found here.

It's around this time they will feel a sharp pain at the back of their eyes, almost like there’s a foreign body lodged on the inside of their head. This pain will subside quickly as their body adapts to the changes, but there will always be a sensation of something being not quite right; that their bodies have been changed forever. It might take some getting used to, but over time the sensation will become familiar. In the stasis pods, all Outsiders have been surgically fitted with ocular and brain implants that will enable them to communicate with LILITH and the rest of the crew, as well as providing them the information they require. Almost like a computer screen has been loaded into their brains, they will see a loading screen as the implant completes its download.

A questionnaire will then pop up, waiting for their answer. A voice, robotic and feminine, will also read along in their brain for them.

If you could change anything about yourself, what would you change?:
If you could be any animal, what would it be?:

Outsiders will receive a quick debrief about their situation: they will be told that the year is 2279, and they have been taken to Neo Tokyo, one of the last bastions of mankind in a world terrorized by various Kaiju and monsters. Only a third of the population remains, and LILITH has gathered talented people from other dimensions here as a last ditch effort to save humanity. Outsiders are free to continue asking LILITH questions through their implant, but there’s no guarantee that they will provide them with a straight answer.

Outsiders will also notice an implant in their dominant wrist. This implant has a barcode in it that will enable them to purchase goods from the local stores in Neo Tokyo. They will receive a starting balance of 15,000 KRYPTOS (about USD 100), which is barely enough for a few good meals, groceries, and supplies. They can view their current balance through a hologram window projected by their ocular implant.

In the cafeteria area, food is being served. The kitchen can be seen, and a few robots are busy stirring pots and preparing the dishes. The current offerings are Fish and chips, and mushy peas. Some very lucky outsiders might get there early enough to see another curious treat; Smack Barm Pey Wets, supplies are limited! Of course, if it doesn't appeal, Outsiders will also be encouraged to make their own food. Finding your own ingredients might be trickier, however, especially with the dubious nature of the meats.

"Greetings, my name is SYNTHIA and I will be taking care of you today. Worry not, my children. You are in safe hands."

▶ 002. ANARCHY IN THE UK

For newly arrived Outsiders and veterans, they will be given a choice. They can choose to do some work in Britain or they can take care of things in Neo Tokyo. For those who decide to help wrap things up in England, they will still be based in Windsor Castle. Eadmund and Gwenllian are nowhere to be found. After recent events, they have both decided to spend some time away and discuss matters privately. In a show of good faith, both will allow LILITH to track their whereabouts, but they ask to be left alone for the time being. LILITH will take over command of the castle and begin to sort things out in the meantime. Since LILITH is helping put things to rights, the teleporter between Neo-Tokyo and Windsor Castle is operating 24/7, allowing outsiders both new and old to travel freely! (However, a little nausea is to be expected from frequent or first-time use.)

One of the matters at hand is the return of the human population. While many of the animals have been turned back into people, there are still some complications. Some of the people have animal features like animal ears, tails, paws, and wings. Others are still in animal form but possess human speech. Outsiders will be tasked with helping to administer LILITH's new rift corruption treatment to the civilians. Outsiders might encounter some civilians who are happy as they are, though. Being a human is hard! Maybe they want to be corgis or find their fox ears cute.

However, among those who have been changed back at the castle, some of them will approach the Outsiders and ask for help. Some of their family and friends are not accounted for and they are worried their loved ones might be out in the surrounding forest and ruins. There's a real concern they might not have changed back and might be out among the wildlife. They beg the Outsiders to help return their loved ones.

Outsiders will receive the best descriptions the locals can possibly give. For example, Outsiders are told to look out for a corgi with one lopsided ear, a fox with orange-ish fur and a very fluffy tail, a badger smaller than normal, a brown stoat, and other animals that... sound like normal animals. They'll also be given names to call out for like, Polly, Digory, Molly, and more. If they're extra "lucky" they might even provide amateur drawings to help them.

Among those asking for help is a certain distressed corgi and her regal daughter who will explain one of the lost corgis is the missing crown prince and other members of the royal family. If they can help reunite their family, they promise to reward the Outsiders handsomely.

▶ 003. KAIJU TRIAL

With their guardian kaiju weak and in recovery, the local kaiju are free to advance. A local variant of the yama-kujira can be found stomping across the forests and charging randomly from the brush. If you can sneak up on one and keep watch, however, you might be able to track some of them into the forest where they dig up the bases of trees for rare and expensive mushrooms that can be sold for a high price to chefs and foodies.

Outsiders who choose to venture into the London ruins to find lost animal-civilians will find fewer threats. They may encounter feral dogs, some giant rat kaiju, and aggravating pigeon kaiju but it's nothing most Outsiders can't handle. However, if they happen upon any bodies of water, they might run into a particularly beautiful sight. Swimming on the water's surface is a beautiful white swan kaiju. However, don't let your guards down. As soon as the swans make eye contact with Outsiders, they immediately take flight and charge at them.

█ █ █ MONSTER DEBRIEF SHEET

NAME: Swavyrn
HEIGHT: 12 ft (366 cm)
WEIGHT: 150 lbs (98 kg)
CLASS: Moderate to dangerous
LOCATION: United Kingdom
ABILITIES: Wing feathers are razor sharp blades, can generate powerful gusts of wind with wings, able to freeze water, beaks and talons are extremely sharp and can crush rock
WEAKNESSES: Electricity, fire, poor vision, extremely fixated on single prey, killing their mate
EXTRA NOTES: The Swavyrn is a common kaiju in parts of the United Kingdom. Extremely territorial and aggressive and once they have locked on to a target, they will not stop until it is dead. Often travel in pairs or small groups as a family. Swavyrn are said to mate for life and legend says if you kill one, the other will die shortly after.

OBJECTIVE:
✖ Rescue civilians that may still be animals

█ █ █ ATTACHED PHOTO:

While it seems that the Swavyrn poses a low risk to the Outsiders, they are a greater risk to most animals which will impede anyone trying to find lost animal-civilians. Outsiders are encouraged to recover as many enchanted civilians that might wander into their territory. They are also told to avoid bodies of water like rivers, ponds, streams, and fountains unless they want to get into territorial disputes. Luckily, most of these areas seem to be in abandoned parks, gardens, and specific parts of the city. They can also be found in the wild forests and fields beyond the city and Castle Windsor.

Outsiders do not need to defeat the Swavyrn they encounter but the feathers are known to be particularly beautiful and are popular collector and fashion items. Apparently some of them can even be used to make special collector blades. While each feather is not very expensive, collecting and selling enough of them could earn a sizable profit on local markets and back home. The Swavyrn is also supposed to be very delicious when treated properly so the corpses can also be sold.

Upon returning to Windsor Castle, there will be much discussion about whether or not the Swavyrn counts as a swan or not and if the Outsiders should be punished for harming them

▶ 004. CULTURE SHOCK

For those who decide to return to Neo Tokyo, they might arrive just in time to catch various small festivals occurring around the city. To celebrate Culture Day, various clubs and societies have organized events to introduce their talents to outsiders. Everyone in Neo Tokyo is welcome to attend these events and if they enjoy them, they're also welcome to join the clubs and start a new hobby!

In the local parks and gardens, Outsiders can experience tea ceremony and flower arrangement demos. Everyone is welcome to come in and enjoy tea with traditional sweets. For those who are especially curious, they can also learn how to prepare the tea. Outsiders who drink the tea will find they feel very relaxed and any worries or concerns they might have seem to fade away.

They can also learn how to arrange flowers into aesthetic displays to take back home. Many of the flowers are artificial and designed to come in both natural and unnatural colors. Their scents are stronger or even scentless depending on your preferences. They can even modify the flowers to look like flora from other countries. With a little bit of creativity you could probably adapt some of the flowers to look like flowers from other worlds, too!

For those who want something more exciting, they can find martial arts exhibitions around the city. These exhibitions can be found at community centers, in front of train stations, and outside department stores. Here, Outsiders can enjoy displays for kendo, naginata, archery, karate, and more. Everyone will be assigned a temporary style upgrade so they can don the appropriate uniform.

If you are interested in learning the way of the sword, you will be given a traditional wooden sword. By gripping the handle, it will read your biometrics and combine virtual tech to create the perfect weight and balance giving you the perfect practice katana. To start, everyone will get to practice cutting bamboo. Club members will also put on exhibition matches. If you can convince them, you might even get to join in on the competition and get to spar with some of the members or each other.

There are also similar matches for archery, naginata, karate, and other martial arts around the city. For archery, the challenge is trying to shoot different targets (stationery and moving) and for karate, challengers have to try to break stacks of tiles. For all martial art exhibitions, if you are able to complete the challenges, you will get to keep your uniform upgrade as a prize.

▶ 005. LIKE...Y'KNOW, NYAH

Word spreads fast in a hyper-modern world, and word of what happened to some of the people in England has made its way back to Japan, and there will always be scientists who are willing to push the envelope when it comes to scientific discovery. Corporations will always use alternative means to fund risky discoveries, and money flows quickly, and discoveries are even quicker to be made. It isn’t like some geneticists and surgeons weren’t already working on such things, but with the extra cash and the right supplies, and word that it’s possible...it all seems to come together easily.

The black markets see it first, as they always do. Individuals with cat ears and tails are the easy ones to spot, but there are others too. A man with a neck that can spin all the way around and eyes that can see far into the distance; a mousey individual with a nose that twitches more than a few times, and a woman with a pair of large canine ears on her head that stick straight up. People who are paying premiums to be the first ones to sport fetching tails, ears, claws and feathers. Sure, one could augment themselves with machinery, but isn’t true wetwork even more enticing?

All these spliced individuals certainly look cool, but with it comes some unintended consequences. The people splicing are starting to show… the effects of their DNA, the longer they have it. For the first few days, it looks quite fetching, of course, but those cat ears and tail are great, until you start tracking every stray bit of movement, before you lunge for your next meal that happens to be the child running in the street. Individuals with squirrel DNA might start compulsively stealing food and burying it, or people with crepuscular hunter skills start stalking people in the dawn and evenings, and there are even whispers of people caught indulging in heat cycles, aggressively attacking in public and territorial disputes are on the rise with the new splicing trend.

LILITH agents who frequent the black market, or who have heard word from some of the curious LILITH scientists, are tasked with seeking out these individuals, as well as the surgeons and doctors who completed this surgery. Stopping the troublesome newly-spliced individuals is only the first step, and there are more and more every day, with any number of individual eccentricities. For example, Outsiders can find ram-spliced individuals fighting in a headlock over the last labrobro at the store; deer-spliced about to leap into traffic; or any number of others throughout the city. It’s spreading beyond the black markets, and it’s starting to cause problems throughout Neo-Tokyo.

Just as important as stopping the spliced individuals, the doctors themselves need to be stopped, but finding them will be difficult, as they tend to perform back-alley surgeries and work through proxies on the black market. Outsiders will need to find a way to convince them to let them get close, either by posing as prospective patients, bribery, coercion, or threats. Clever Outsiders might be able to locate the surgeons, but the directive is clear: LILITH wants them brought in for questioning.

▶ 006. AFTERWORD.

Welcome to our 13th TDM! All TDM threads are game canon and characters who don't app will be glitched out of this world. As the TDM will act as the event, existing characters are heavily encouraged to participate. Please use this format for top levels: CHARACTER | CANON | CURRENT / NEW CHARACTER.

There are currently ~16 available player slots. New players are welcome to use this TDM to get samples for APPLICATIONS when they open.

Use the code provided in the ARRIVAL prompt if you'd like to participate in the ice breaker, and place it in your top level along with your other prompts. Anything such as civilian name or username can be marked as UNDECIDED if you're unsure of what you'd like your character to have for now. Though it says 'Orientation', existing characters can still participate in the ice-breaker. Current Outsiders will have their Syndata files accessible for all to see. New characters will not have a Syndata profile but players can write a short blurb about the character for this.

Please note that all tags in this log will count for 2 points each and will count towards November AC.
EVENT BREAKDOWN/RECAP (CLICK TO EXPAND)
1. ARRIVAL / CAFETERIA. (TOKYO BASE): Newcomers arrive with ocular and brain implants, and are given a breakdown of the premise with an icebreaker orientation to complete. They will arrive in Neo Tokyo.

[ One can't really go that far in Neo Tokyo, without seeing some sort of injustice happening. Perhaps this is why Don Quixote is going to find herself a very busy person. If there isn't a looting happening, or a murder, then there is always someone starving, or poor, that's struggling or giving up the last of their savings to pay back a meager loan.

Silco wasn't intending to stop, but... the speech. As one inclined to monologues, he knows a yapper when he sees one. And Don...is that. With a sigh and a cloud of smoke, he eyes the altercation, before he steps between two individuals to get a better look. They part immediately for him, so he can see the scene. The two counting the money, the bloodied man, intact child. Someone...boisterous with a weapon, talking about villainy. How showy.

Easy.
]

She's right, you know.

[ Yes, he's looking the two of the thugs up and down with disdain. ] This is sloppy, beating a man in the streets for a few kryptos.

[ They both look like children who got caught with their fingers in the cookie jar. ] Is this really the best use of your time, or are there better ways to find funds?
sonando: (Default)

[personal profile] sonando 2025-11-02 01:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Lo! Something most unexpected and astonishing happens. Those villainous villains without an ounce of scruple look afraid the moment Silco talks to to them. Why, tis as if they are faced with death itself, come to claim their tainted souls.

Why and how such a seemingly weak and unarmed man had such an effect on the thugs, nobody knows. What is sure however, is that they immediately throw the money back at the man, apologize and scamper away. Don is in awe that this was solved without her having to shed any blood. ]

Aaaaaah! What a great, grand, glorious, magnificent display of diplomacy! [She sounds in equal part in awe and excited.] Forsooth, I am reminded of the illustrious Red Gaze whenceforth he swiftly saved us from most evil dangers. Waah... Tis would be most unwise to shed tears, yet my heart is moved by such graceful resolution.

[ Sniff. She wonders if he's a local fixer and his reputation precedes him? Maybe she can get his autograph! ]

Unknown sir of the most convincing tongue, on behalf of these innocents and myself, thou hast our deepest and most sincere gratitude. Those villains may hath committed more wicked atrocities were it not for your most fortuitous intervention.
zauneyete: (pic#17565170)

[personal profile] zauneyete 2025-11-02 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Silco's eyes do this thing, when she mentions Red Gaze, where they snap to her so quickly that she may as well have reached out and touched him. One of them is unblinking, pitch and glowing that's obvious even under the bright lights in the black market. His lips twitch, before he smooths it over by running a hand through his hair, eyes tipping back to the crying child and their parent, and then to the now retreating thugs. ]

Go on, take it. [ The child is still crying, and Silco turns away from them. ] And get out of here. Clearly, you shouldn't be here.

[ Tourists, perhaps, or people trying to get their hands on a splicing lead. He is disinclined to provide it, given that they can't even defend themselves from incompetent looters. He turns back to Don, his hands clasped now. ]

I doubt they would have done more than chase their next high, quite honestly. Sloth will be their crime, in the end.

[ A shrugging gesture, and then with an awkward drop of his shoulders, he pulls a cigar out from his coat, and snips and lights it in one quick gesture with his artificial hand. ] You must be from the City then, aren't you?

[personal profile] sonando 2025-11-02 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Thankfully, Don Quixote is totally oblivious to Silco's eyes being fixed so intensely on her. Or if she realizes something's amiss... She's damn good at hiding it. ]

A-Aaah? Hath my reputation already preceded me? [She shakes her head.] Nay, mine identity is unknown to you. Yet tis evident our most beloved company has gained in standing and recognition. How else wouldst thou hold such knowledge?

[ Is she... Tearing up? Yes yes, she definitely is. But she's still smiling and sounding like an excited child who just saw a mountain of present on Christmas morning. ]

W-What a joyous conundrum it is... Were that my companions be here. I shall regale them with the tale of what happened here whenceforth we are reunited.

[ She stands nobly and proudly before Silco. The City may be a horrible place that would drive many people insane and sap their will to live - and she stands as an example of it - but she'll be its proud representative if she has to be! ]

Hark, noble sir, for the City is the place I call home indeed.
zauneyete: (pic#17629476)

[personal profile] zauneyete 2025-11-03 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
[ Is she —

Is she crying? Silco just stares for one long moment, hands at his sides, cigar clenched in his teeth. Of all the people he's met from these places, she's so far the oddest. She's making it out like their company is famous, but really —
]

I've heard of it. [ A beat. ] Those of us who have been here a while tend to talk... and, I've hired people from your world before. [ She'd already mentioned one, after all. Let's not talk about that!! ] It's less ubiquitous, and more that we all need something to pass the time.

So no need to mention this.

[ A wave of his hand. Though he is already in "play nice" mode. Just in case. Last thing he needs is another surprise. ]
sonando: (54)

[personal profile] sonando 2025-11-04 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[ So he's heard of it! In another world that has naught to do with the City, he's heard of their company. Sniff. To think they've reached glory that they couldn't even have dreamt of. ]

HAAAH--! I may but surmise Manager Esquire and Sir Vergilius art not the sole representatives of our world hither.

[ But he did not say he's hired people from their company specifically. Mhm. ]

Prithee, were employees of the most esteemed Limbus Company amongst those fortunate souls you didst take in thine employ?
zauneyete: (pic#17674619)

[personal profile] zauneyete 2025-11-05 07:18 am (UTC)(link)
[ He inhales on the cigar, before he blows another ring of smoke out and lets it drift into the air. Silco, after all, has to consider this, and how to divert any possible suspicion. It also keeps him from looking at her too intently. Instead, he just blows smoke. ]

Oh, they're the only ones I know these days, but yes, I've employed someone from your... "esteemed company".

[ Doesn't seem like he thinks highly of it, then again, his opinion is somewhat colored. (hah) There. That explains a lot, didn't it? No? Well. ]

I don't know if anyone would consider themselves fortunate, of course. My work is hardly easy, given that we are working to topple the criminal underbelly. [ Right into his hands, obviously. ] Hence the need for those with the proper skills.
sonando: (59)

[personal profile] sonando 2025-11-05 12:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[ The way he says the name of their company, does he find it lacking? Thankfully, before she can linger overlong of this, the rest of his words are enough for her to forget about it entirely. ]

HARK! Verily, thou art a champion of justice as well!

[ She knew it! What are the odds she would stumble upon an ardent paragon of justice, one who has worked with her company no less? ]

Forsooth, our encounter cannot be the work of happenstance alone. Nay, tis evident the very stars themselves did conspire to usher us into this fated meeting.

[ A kid who was told Christmas is coming early wouldn't look any happier than Don Quixote in that moment. ]

Muahaha... Perhaps tis the chance for me to become a Fixer of great renown. Verily, the very thought of crossing paths with the paragons in thine service... Ehehuhu. What a joyous day tis be.
zauneyete: (pic#17756775)

[personal profile] zauneyete 2025-11-08 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[ That's him. A Champion of Justice.

His face does twitch just slightly, because it's funnier than it should be.
]

Well, we all work for LILITH. I think you'll encounter them regardless, hm?

[ And because he can't leave well enough alone, he has to ask the question: ]

Do Fixers really have that much attention where you're from?

[ sometimes your boyf-- bodyguard is famous in his world and you still don't really have a concept of it ]
sonando: (77)

[personal profile] sonando 2025-11-09 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
[ Oh no. Oh no. He's unlocked her next power level: Fixer obsession. Normally, nobody cares and she just fangirls into the void. But here, a paragon of justice asking her for more information about Fixers?! Her time hath come!! ]

Verily, that they are! Fixers are Champions of Justice, toiling without cease that the City be better place for all who dwell within!

[ She proudly points at the badges plastered over her coat. People may have thought it to be a weird fashion choice, but in truth they're all badges that belong to various Fixer offices. ]

Even the weaker and lesser known Fixers are heroes people hold in the highest of esteem. [A beat.] And when a Grade 1 Fixer doth prove themselves to be of skills and proficiency beyond compare, then a singular rank and title is bestowed upon them: that of a colour. [She's getting more and more excited as she goes on.] Only one of each color may exist at a given time, for they stand as true and absolute paragons. They inspire bravery and confidence in the hearts of the population, and fear in the souls of even the most wicked of villains!

[ Fixers are so cool, aren't they? She wonders if Vergilius has finally made his own merch, she could add his badge to her collection... ]

Should a Star of the City-level threat appear, they be the ones dispatched to contend with it. Forsooth, a lone colour is more apt to deal with such a dire peril than a thousand regular Fixers would be.
zauneyete: (pic#17756762)

[personal profile] zauneyete 2025-11-09 08:09 am (UTC)(link)
[ So he hadn't noticed the coat. He still doesn't... quite get what they are, but the way she indicates them, and talks about Fixers, he can kind of guess... that they are supposed to be... some sort of... fan-thing? He's seen people do this around Neo-Tokyo, though the idea of it in Zaun is alien as anything else. Then again, when you're so poor that you can barely afford to eat, what is something like this? Fangirling?

But what it does indicate is something else, too. He's happy to keep interrogating asking questions, because it's something he has only gotten a very biased picture about.
]

That unique, are they? And that powerful? [ Of course, he's seen a color-grade in action plenty, but it's a perspective he hasn't really quite heard, and something he doesn't know what to do with. Logically, he should take this with a grain of salt. This sounds like grandstanding, and he knows Vergilius hates it. There is a part of him... that little magpie that he is, feels something like... pride, and the twitch of his lips is again hidden by puffing on his cigar. Another part of Silco — the one that knows what power is, sees it, and knows how to obtain it... well. He says nothing of this to Don, because he has picked up on one very important thing: He is not telling her anything. Well, he wouldn't anyway, but even knowing that Vergilius worked for him ("""worked""") would be problematic. ]

Why, I'm surprised LILITH hasn't brought more in, if they would be so effective, don't you think? The Kaiju threat hasn't been ended yet, after all. I take it you are a... fan of them, then?
sonando: (14)

[personal profile] sonando 2025-11-11 12:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[ A fan!! She nods most excitedly. It's good to be recognized for what you are. And really Silco should consider starting a fanclub in Zaun. It's exactly when you're poor and hopeless that you need icons to look up to!! ]

Verily, I am their most fervent and devoted admirer! I am subscribed to every Fixer magazines and even possess a few figurines of the rarest sort! [... Okay her figurines aren't actually rare and they're all pretty cheap BUT THEY ARE PRECIOUS TO HER.] Why, I once shared a space with two colours at once, [The day her life peaked, if she says so herself.] And I work in the selfsame department as the Red Gaze himself.

[ Dreams do kind of happen, after all.

And maybe once she learns of the connection Silco has to Vergilius, she can convince him to produce "Red Gaze" merch. With such connections, she could even get a numbered Vergilius figure to add to her collection... M-Maybe even... Maybe she could get the one numbered "0000000001." Ah... Is such a thing even possible? ]

Those Kaijus do sound quite similar to the five Calamities... Forsooth, colours could handle the task with ease. [A walk in the park for them! Or maybe she's exaggerating.] However, I can but assume summoning a colour is a matter of utmost difficulty. Verily, LILITH must be spent from the endeavor to summon forth Sir Vergilius.

[ LILITH must have been sleeping for months after this, honestly it's a miracle anyone else got summoned at all. ]
zauneyete: (pic#17674614)

[personal profile] zauneyete 2025-11-11 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[ so funny story about that, there might be a cult. :') ]

Oh? I imagine he must greatly enjoy working with someone who knows his title so well.

[ He knows, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the answer to this is no. His tone, even, is... well. Tinged with a thread of sarcasm, that conceals itself as curiosity. Everyone else he's met from the city has been fairly serious types. Don is the only one who has been... well. Like this.

He can imagine that Vergilius would have words to say, if he brought her up. Which, he will, but not before he gets all the information out of her that he can. Well, exaggerated information, he suspects. But still, he can pull the threads out later.
]

It sounds a bit like these fixers of yours are celebrities. How does one get so close as to work with them, I wonder? [ A beat, and then with a wan smile: ] Are you one yourself?
sonando: (52)

[ If only. Sir Vergilius is far too humble of a person to appreciate having a fangirl around. Especially when said fangirl is a total idiot who endangers missions by trying to fight any injustice she comes across. She still remembers the way he tried crushing her underfoot...

... Totally justified honestly. What kind of idiot starts a fight in the middle of a corporation's nest because she sees guards separating a family - a corporation that can instantaneously heal its guards forever if needed, no less. A justice-loving idiot perhaps, but an idiot nonetheless. ]

Nay... Alas, I am but a humble Sinner.

[ She sounds sad. How dares he remind her of this reality. ]

Yet, I abide by the dreams and aspirations of Fixers! Verily, once the terms of my contract be fulfilled, tis my fervent desire to myself become a Fixer.

Ah. Just a sinner.

[ Which means nothing to him, and he could ask about it, but... well. He has other sources, that might not be quite as uh... extravagant in explanation. ]

A sinner with a contract, at that. Will being here violate it? I've heard they can be quite binding, those contracts.

Not that I have experience with such things. Paperwork like that doesn't really exist where I am from.

Heh? I am a sinner as a result of my contract.

[ Well, she'd be a sinner regardless but here, it designates one of the thirteen member of LBC. Clearly he doesn't know what he's talking about and he's trying to pretend! It's a skill she can appreciate, even if that's a tad awkward. Poor mister Silco. ]

Transportation another world finds no mention in the contract... Verily, I do not believe our employer even conceived of such a prospect.

[ Or does it? Back then she had been... W-Well, she hadn't really read the small print. ]

[ He really doesn't know, but then again, Vergilius had been very close lipped about much pertaining to the company, or his contract. He'd not even realized he and Dante were... Close until he'd made the mistake of shooting them, after all.

So, he simply shrugs.
]

I see. I'm surprised, honestly. I would think they would apply a contingency for such things.

[ A beat. ]

Well, perhaps you should speak to others under similar circumstances, to see how they handled it.

[ Awfully astute for someone who doesn't have anything to do with such things. ]

[ Dante would probably know better than her, yes. Vergilius would definitely know, but...

... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

He would groan and stare at her coldly and not say anything. Bwaah. How cruel it is to work with someone as cool and awesome as Vergilius, only for him to always be so bothered by your mere presence?! ]

I shall attend to it forthwith.

[ She bows gracefully at the man. ]

Mister Silco, tis my dearest hope we shall meet again in the days to come!

Oh... I don't think you have to hope much about that.

[ Given... everything. He suspects he's going to see Don Quixote again soon enough. ]

We're a... close bunch you know. I'm sure I'll see you soon enough on base, hm?

[ He Will play it off as it's just normal, though. ]

Try not to start too many fights here, hm? It's messy to clean up.
