KAIJU FIGHT #1

CONTENT WARNINGS: thalassophobia, natural disaster, drowning, body horror, violence, blood & gore.

▶ 001. SEAS THE DAY.

On the morning of the 1st, sirens will blare, forcing every Outsider and Neo Tokyo civilian awake. While it hasn't been activated a while, every citizen within the city knows this alarm all too well - it wails through the city whenever a Kaiju has been detected, ordering everyone to return to their homes immediately and stay there until they receive further information. Outsiders gazing at Neo Tokyo will see the armored city in its full technological splendour for the first time today. Once the civilians have returned to their homes, machinery within the buildings will work like clockwork, sinking each and every LILITH-augmented building beneath the ground. Just in time, too, because the waves are starting to roar again, crashing beyond the shore and flooding the city once more. Observant Outsiders may note that not every building has been modified. The older ones remain standing, vulnerable to the impending flood. Does anyone live in those buildings? The answer is yes, but that's not a priority at the moment.

Every Outsider will receive a summon, ordering them to prepare for battle. The Kaiju has been identified and located. It's show time.

"Angels of LILITH. We have located the Kaiju coming from beyond the sea. A full mission brief including the information we have gathered will be sent to you immediately. For now, make your way to the bay where your transport will be waiting. Be prepared for anything, but mostly, be prepared to swim."

Waiting for the Outsiders at the bay appear to be ... expensive-looking, personal yachts? This has to be a mistake, right? It's no mistake. Through intel LILITH has exchanged with international companies, it appears that this particular Kaiju has a fondness for overturning civilian yachts, and there's no better way to attract it than to leave it its favourite bait. The goal is to attract these Kaiju towards the boats and then attacking.

The ships may look like they're outfitted for a fancy yacht party. In fact, some exploring down below deck in the lounging room, one may find caviar on fancy ritz, oyster tower, little finger sandwiches with the crusts cut off and bougie smelly cheese that nobody in LILITH's pay grade can identify. On another table, there is fancy ramen spoons filled with microgreens, crystal jelly vinegarette, and a thin slice of parmesan cheese. Some further looking may find some fine aged wine, but you're not here to drink and party, you're here to fight a Kaiju! Right? Right.

Despite the fact everything about these yachts just look like... fancy yachts... they are actual warships that are mounted with naval artillery such as swivel guns, missiles and torpedos. Spears, harpoon guns and fishing nets can also be found and used if an Outsider is more comfortable getting extremely close to the monsters. There's no time for a proper seafaring course, so Outsiders will be given a quick run down on how the controls work, and be sent on their way. They will also be given a special jewel-like implant that attaches to the skin, right along the forehead, and told to wear it if they need to go into the water. "Don't worry about it," the LILITH crew says. "But it'll br one hell of a ride if you use it."

Alongside the crew, Seok Dang seems to be also assisting (?) though he's gotten a hold of the reception food down below. Did he smell like fine wine? Possibly. But that's definitely a fancy, half eaten cracker in his hand. He's also got on a bright, neon life preserver. Maybe someone doesn't know how to swim.

"WHOOO HELLA YEAH, MOTHERFUCKERS. Don't know how to swim? Don't'cha worry. Daddy Dang has got you covered. I know CPR! I give the best CPR! 💖 I'll rescue ya. TONIGHT, WE BALL!"

Nobody uses that phrase anymore, but you know what? You do you, SD.

▶ 002. WHALE WATCHING.

Minutes into their ship's course, the boats will rock violently, as if those already violent waves have somehow come alive. There is something in the water! The mission brief would have been shared with them sometime during their trip, but maybe Outsiders want to pull up on their implant the image and debrief shared once again now that there is some action. The orca-like Kaiju trying to reach the shores of Neo Tokyo is called Shachimon, and she's been the cause of the violent waves and flooding we've seen for the past few weeks. Alongside of her and are her children orca who love to mimic everything their mother does. The biggest one, the matriarch of the pod, is over 60 meters in length - large enough to swallow a boat whole. The younger ones are smaller but just as ferocious, spanning from the size of a car to the size of a bus. The youngsters are a size small enough that they can leap out of the water, sometimes crashing down onto people and ships. Beware!

Shachimon will be fighting to knock over boats, or climbing on boats with their amphibious legs. Once they get their hands on humans or Outsiders, they pull them into the water, tearing them limb from limb to feed. Their control over the waves are no joke, either. With a powerful swing of their tail, they can conjure up tsunamis capable of overturning ships. The matriarch, if left to her own devices, seems bent on submerging Neo Tokyo to make food of all its citizens.

█ █ █ MONSTER DEBRIEF SHEET
NAME: Shachimon
HEIGHT: Younger whales are 4 - 18 metres. The matriarch is 60 meters in length.
WEIGHT: 1500kg - 5000kg
CLASS: Highly dangerous.
LOCATION: Large bodies of water
ABILITIES: Use of sonar to detect any water movement. Fast swimmer. Very sturdy body thanks to all that whale blubber. High intelligence - commonly works together as a pod to take down prey. Capable of creating tsunamis that overturn boats. The largest Shachimon can sink a city if not stopped.
WEAKNESS: Electricity (since it will be inside water), dissection, spearing its eyes or blowhole. Loud vibrations within the water can stun or confuse it.
EXTRA NOTES: Dislikes and will attempt to overturn civilian yachts. Carnivorous, eating marine life and human flesh. Sadistic personality, may play with their food prior to eating.

█ █ █ MISSION OBJECTIVE:
✖ Lead the Shachimon away from the shore.
✖ Extermination of Shachimon in the water and if they reach the shore.
✖ Protection of nearby fishermen's boats and civilians within those boats.
✖ Teamwork to destroy the matriach Shachimon.
✖ Bring back specimens (live or deceased) for research purposes.

As a note, Outsiders who wish to remain on land and help civilians there may do so. There are waves flooding the city, and some of the smaller, quicker Shachimon will have made it to shore. They will need to be taken care of before they can terrorise the city.

▶ 003. OCEAN GEMS.

Shachimon are most deadly in the water and their go-to strategy is to pull others into their turf, where they have the advantage. That's where those jewel-like implants come in. These implants, called OCEAN GEMS, when attached to the skin, temporarily modify the body. Once activated, nanobots will invade the bloodstream and alter the user's lungs, giving them a set of breathable gills. Their legs will also be altered, giving them fins and the tail of a fish. This is a recent invention by LILITH ever since the first Shachimon was spotted a few years ago, and the technology is still experimental. This means that the transformation process will be significantly uncomfortable, feeling a bit like being asphyxiated and having your legs sewn together at the same time. Deactivating the gem and turning back feels just as uncomfortable, and being experimental technology, it can take a while before the user can successfully revert back. Those who want to fight in the water and lack any weapons or abilities that can be used can request Seok Dang for a weapon. There's a limited supply, but they will be given a special trident. Directly driving the spear into one of the kaiju will electrocute it, giving a higher chance for higher damage. These tridents will be handed out to those who want to use their Ocean Gem and ask.

It's up to Outsiders whether they want to use this new technology or not. Being able to fight the monsters on their own terrain is certainly an advantage, so LILITH would highly encourage it.

▶ 004. MEDICAL BAY.

Healers and those with medical experience will be placed on the warship with a red flag on it. Dr. Spim & Alex will also be present on this ship to assist any major injuries to both LILITH and civilian fisherman alike. This ship is bigger than the others, and while stocked up with the same artillery, it is also stocked with beds and medical supplies. This will be the Outsider's naval medical bay during the siege on the Shachimon and all injured Outsiders or civilians will need to be transported there. This ship will also need to be protected heavily, because once the Shachimon catch on that all the injured, vulnerable prey are being transported to the larger ship, they will start to target that ship in particular. Characters that need immediate medical help should be transported to this ship via a dataportal. Each yacht has a dataportal that can teleport anyone instantly to the medical ship. The dataportals are also located down below deck to prevent them from getting damaged.

▶ 005. THE CALM AFTER THE STORM.

It's a bloody, soggy and gruesome battle and the seas' waves begin to calm down, the sea filled with kaiju carcasses. LILITH's clean up crew is working hastily to collect these corpses, but with the Outsiders' occupied and recovering from their fresh battle, help is limited. Search and rescue scavenges the sea to find any civilians who didn't make it or may need medical help. Meanwhile, the valiant teamwork and effort has paid off. After many hits from many different weapons, artillery, natural abilities, etc. the matriarch kaiju has been downed and sank to the bottom of the ocean floor. LILITH's team will work to retrieve the massive carcass, though it will take awhile. Those who put in notable effort will receive praise and a little extra payout. Outsiders will see an instant transfer of funds to their account: 340,000,000 KRYPTOS. This is roughly about 2500 USD.

The intense battle will have lasted several days and Outsiders are free to go from land to sea as little or as often as they like. It is all over, though, and Outsiders will be called to return to the MAIN BASE for rest and recovery. LILITH will also be searching for the rift where the kaiju came from while Outsiders recover. A message from an unknown voice will pop up an hour or so after all Outsiders have returned to the MAIN BASE. Outsiders may use this time to socialize in a commons area, wash up in the showers, get a meal in the cafeteria or rest.

▶ 006. AFTERWORD.

Welcome to our first Kaiju log! All prompts are highly encouraged but OOCly optional. ICly, characters can choose to fight in the ocean, on the ships or stay behind on land and protect the city. At the end of the siege, characters who accepted an Ocean Gem will be asked to return it. It's experimental technology, so LILITH will need to do more tweaking before they can properly release it. Outsiders who use the gem may have whatever fish tail they like, as long as it is a sea creature.

Feel free to NPC your characters' fights with the smaller kaijus. The main fight with the Shachimon matriarch will be determined via a HP-based system (see log for more details). All tags in this log count for 2 reward points each

Below is also the month at a glance. We understand the CALENDAR has been a little inconsistent, but the mod team is sorting all of this out. Expect a FEEDBACK POST this month as well so we can check in with the playerbase and make any adjustments to the game. This log, even if the time stamp says JANUARY, will count for FEBRUARY AC.

I'd like to implement any RNG damage my characters do into their toplevels, so in the meantime...

Lucy will be taking up a trident and gem just in case she gets knocked overboard from the yachts! Though before she's overboard, she will also try to incapacitate the smaller orcas. I'd really like for her to fling at least one person into the air to help them attack one! After that, she'll be sticking to underwater fighting.

Yor will be going from yacht to yacht to help out! If you've seen season 2 of Spy x Family, it'll be something like that. Just her going buckwild with attacking any orcas that come up onto the boats or get close enough for her to hit. May also get her an underwater gem just in case.

I'd love to have either of them assisting other folks, whether on the boats, underwater, or on land!

Wow!! So much to go over! I'll try to make a cliffs notes version.

- Raidou only has a katana which isn't going to be much use against creatures like this. Instead he's going to grab a spear and get right on in there. He's not as familiar with it as a weapon, so expect him to jump in the way to defend you from an attack with it, so you can get in there to use your more appropriate weapon/power, and then attack when he can.
- More than anything else, Raidou is about helping people. He might run off to help those stuck in buildings that haven't lowered underground. This is probably insanely dangerous but like that's ever stopped him before.
- I'm probably gonna merman-ify him and he's gonna go attack them under the water with a trident too, and then be disturbed by the transformation later when he's got more time to think about it...
- Raidou now has the healing upgrade, so towards the end of the event, he will be lending this power out to the Outsiders (since it's a little hard to explain to the civilians).

I think that's it? Raidou's had a rough couple of weeks since he's arrived so i really just want him to be help to help in tangible ways, and to kick some ass. It'll really help out his shaken confidence. If there is anything you'd like him for let me know!

I'm torn between joining him to help the people in the non-lowered buildings, or being there for merman battling, because that's just awesome. and then likely taunting him later when raidou gets disturbed by it. (IT'S A TAIL!! what's so weird?!) wrap his legs up in a blanket and be all "no diff, see?" and other stuff. There's also healing things, if Raidou wants to deal with Bakugo being a bear about getting healed up.

So Makima will be getting a gem and some sort of tail, haven’t entirely decided what yet. But it’s happening! I’d like to have her on deck for a little while before going into the water, so I’ll probably have a couple of options there.

For the most part, she’ll be sticking to what’s provided when possible. But since this looks wild and it’s not like she has experience fighting giant whale monsters, definitely open to having CR maybe see her use a power here or there, but she’d be more likely to ask someone for help instead.

And I definitely want to do something with her afterwards during the post-mission stuff. She’s going to want to see how things went for people, everybody’s first big combat operation here, she wants to know how they’re feeling after.

🎣 first of all, ishmael is going to take a boat and get closer to the kaiju herself! she knows how to drift it and everything, it's so cool. so if you want your chara to join her in attacking at point-blank range, you are more than welcome!

🎣 ishmael is going to attack in her E.G.O, Blind Obsession, which is one of the stronger attacks in her canon that comes with a drawback -- if she stays in it for too long, she is going to Corrode into the Abnormality she took the E.G.O from, like so. she will also go berserk and do some friendly fire in this form so people in close proximity should watch out... or even attack her back just to snap her out of it!! i am flexible here.

we have too many fighting threads LMAO but like i said wanchan is absolutely going to think of ish when everything starts happening, but after (waves thread) he'll have some faith in her that she won't actually unalive herself for this, so he'll watch from the sidelines like a wise old mentor

depending on whether she gets her ass kicked or not, i think it'd be cute if he eventually visits her post-kaiju. whether she's recovering in the medbay or just around it'd be cute if he actually seeks her out to either praise her (gasp) or scold her for being Weak... either way i think this is a good enabler for him eventually training her tbh. some Actual Bonding...

💥 ▶ 001. SEAS THE DAY.

[Here's a list of events/actions Bakugo will be taking in the lead-up to the battle. Feel free to hit me up if you want to join with him in one of these, or have another idea you're interested in doing!

(•) Suiting Up - Bakugo will be changing into his hero costume and heading out of the Everlight dorms to answer the summons. You can either find him in the middle of changing, as he's leaving, or join him on the walk to the bay. If you want to meet up with him, he's going to be in battle mode, shifting between serious focus and aggressive "slasher grin" battle-lust because he's been WAITING for this damn monster to show its stupid face! Small talk is going to get slapped down and he'll be making sure his teammates are ready (mentally, physically, battle-ly?) if they opt to work with him.

(•) Yacht Transport - Once suited up, Bakugo's going to be going by his hero name, Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight, and you better refer to him as such or he'll be yelling at you to do so! (Just shorten it to "Dynamight" like everyone else does.) Anyways, Dynamight's going to be staying on the top level (deck) of the yacht, either talking to his teammates (and other CR) or learning how to handle the navel artillery. Find him manning the swivel guns and harpoon guns, or assisting the crew in aiming the missiles and torpedoes. Just in case he needs to use them during the fight. Never hurts to be prepared. He's won't eat anything (avoids cramps), but he will be drinking something hot to heat up.]

💥 ▶ 002. WHALE WATCHING.

(•) Shachimon Fight - Dynamight is going to focus on three things: (1) distracting and damaging Shachimon (mom version) by attacking her eyes/face/blowhole with his Explosion Quirk, causing fire damage, explosion damage, and using the light & shockwaves to disrupt the creature's sonar and sight, and (2) outright blowing the ever-living f*ck out of the Shachimon (youngster version) by hitting them with stronger charged explosions to blow them up or trying to pierce them with concentrated explosions when they come out of the water, and (3) keeping the sea monsters OFF of the yachts, usually by trying to blast them off via hitting their faces with explosions or striking their legs at the joints or ends to force them to let go. If he's in a vulnerable state (see below) Dynamight is going to use the naval weapons to battle.

(•) Dynamight Endangered - Much to his frustration, this is not the best setting for Dynamight's battling. Water and cold are detriments to his Quirk, as the cold makes it take longer for him to build up the sweat and get going with his explosions, and the water can dilute or somewhat wash away his nitroglycerine-like sweat. Going underwater likewise is dangerous for him, because even though nitroglycerine can detonate in water, the explosions won't be as powerful and he's certainly not as mobile as he is in the air. Thus Dynamight is going to do his damnest to stay out of the water and bounce between the yachts as needed to keep above-water footholds. That said, he's a great swimmer and will dive into the water and use his explosions to rescue people if necessary, but will need to be guarded for a bit after a dunk so he can heat up again. Also if he's caught and dragged underwater in this vulnerable moment, he'll need to be rescued.]

💥 ▶ 003. OCEAN GEMS.

[Here's a list of events/actions Bakugo will be taking during underwater battle. Feel free to hit me up if you want to join with him in one of these, or have another idea you're interested in doing!

(•) Bombfish - While he will be doing his best to keep above sealevel due to his Quirk's advantage outside of water, if need be, Dynamight will don the Ocean Gem and take the battle underwater as a merman, because why the hell not? (Just ignore the aspect of where his costume went. Nanobots.) Here he'll be using his Explosion Quirk again to cause light and vibration distraction, and attempting to attack the Shachimon in vulnerable places, like the eyes, face, blowholes, and limbs/tail to disable their movements. Also, if there's an available one, he'll be using one of the electrified tridents to fend off, damage, or kill the smaller Shachimon. Note, this option is more out of IC necessity than IC preference, buuut since I OOC love playing out merfolk things, I'm all for it. By the end of the battle, you can expect to see Dynamight alternating between above-water human fighting and under-water merman fighting in seamless transition.]

(•) Bloody Patch-ups - Dynamight will work to protect the medical ship if/when the Shachimon get wind that it's a target to go after. Teaming up with someone to do this is certainly a welcome aspect. While it's not good that the monsters are attacking the vulnerable point, the fact the Outsiders know where the monsters are aiming makes for an easier battlefront, since they can block the siege better and hold their ground. I haven't decided yet if Bakugo is going to get injured and need to be taken in for treatment, but if he does, it's going to be done post-battle, because he won't let an injury take him out of the fight if he can help it. If you want to play out an injury with Bakugo, let me know, because I'm all for that if there's an interest. Whether that's getting him to the medical ship via a transport or if he needs a quick heal by all those goody-two-shoe healers among the Outsiders. Y'all a buncha damn huggy angels now, aren't ya. Also, if you want to have Bakugo find and rescue your character and get them to the ship to be treated, I'm good for that kind of threat as well! Don't expect him to be sweet and nice about it though... Fast and efficient is his style.]

(•) Guh - Dynamight is going to help with the search and rescue efforts if he can. Though he'll focus on finding people, not harvesting kaiju carcasses. Priorities. Whether this is scouring the bay or trying to help go through the buildings that remained above ground during the waves. He will focus on the living rather than the dead, believing it's more important to save a life first. If you want to help him in this endeavor, assistance is appreciated. ESPECIALLY people who have a far nicer and friendlier attitude than Dynamight... Who wants a saving angel yelling at them to shut the hell up and grab on or die. But at least he's good at his intents!

(•) R&R - Bakugo will only return to the main base once there is no more need of him out in the field. He will resist the call to return until those working the search and rescue efforts assure him there's nothing else he can do. Only then will he go back. You can find him in the main base doing a number of things: (1) getting a shower or bath - hopefully hot, or else he'll heat up his own bath, thanks. (2) getting something to eat, so either scarfing down rations provided or if he's had some time to rest, making something himself. (3) resting, first night being too tired to even change so just end up face down on the bed or crashed somewhere in full costume, probably a good chance to sleep beside him for warmth without getting your head bitten off. (4) talking about the event, likely grumpy and keeping it brief.]

Oh boy I am very excited for everything. 🫣 I didn't get to all of my plans in January due to life+winter weather taking my energy so I am going wild this month.

- Given Rodya's canon point is wrapping up a horrifying sea adventure where she hated it as shes way out of her element, going through another one so soon is going to mess her up mentally even if shes much more prepared for it. I am throwing her into the sea regardless despite the toll it's going to put on her. She will be part of the fighting and can backup folks by quick healing, just expect her mood to be down or off from normal. Monster mashing is an average day in her book so it's like she never left home.

- Adding on to her list of bad life choices, she will be using her E.G.O. in fighting and there is a good chance that she will be corroded due to her mental well being, going into a beserk period that includes friendly fire. Rime Shank is technically one of her weaker E.G.O. yet it's still dangerous and can cause some damage. Heres a write up on her powers that are taken from her app if you want more info on E.G.O. and such!

- MERMAID FORMS MY FAVORITE... I haven't decided on the tail, but she will get a gem as a backup plan in case she goes in the water and learn to deal with it until it wears off.

- Post-kaiju fight, I want to do a fun meal activity as after every major chapter in canon, her and her team go out to eat as their tradition. Setting up a hotpot in the base for comfort food and for a job well done. Folks can come help with it and/or come eat. Besides that, she will be resting, living in a hot-as-possible shower and checking in on her CR.

prefacing this by saying that i'm currently on hiatus for the month so i won't be taking on too many kaiju fight threads

for general kaiju fight stuff, he'll be pitching in where he can, so if you'd like to handwave that your character teamed up with him for a time to battle some baby sharks (doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo.......) i'm happy to do that! he'd be more likely to stay on the boats/fight any kaiju encroaching on land but he can swim so he can also be in the water for a bit. no ocean gem for him though, he's still too sus of lilith modifications to accept anything he doesn't have to 😔 RIP to the shark cloaca (nsfw text) he could have had.

at some point i would like him to get pretty heavily injured and have someone drag his pathetic ass to the medbay ship. i don't really have a preference on how this goes down (maybe he's trying to save your character, maybe he just gets ganged up on by a swarm of babies hungry for cake—no i gotta stop making that joke) and i also don't have a preference if whoever's saving him does so for altruistic reasons or just wants to be owed a favor. either way, let me know if you're interested! ideally i would like to be able to thread this to conclusion.

in general i'd like to use this event to make him realize how outclassed he is and force him to make further modifications to his body via the nanobot injections. he's still very 😒😒😒😒😒 about LILITH as a whole but he'll force himself to adapt if it means surviving. i won't be top leveling for the event log but i'm happy to write closed starters as necessary.

Flashback to the one time Vox Machina fought a boss underwater and barely escaped with their lives. Taryon is taking the kaiju fight seriously and does not want to be on death's door again, so he's spending time crafting magic coins with one-time spells for you guys and working out a plan of attack. If you guys want your characters to be faster, or be better at evading things, or want some protection spells, he's here.

Taryon will focus on diverting the kaiju from the civilian boats or using the weapons provided in the military yachts, but he will jump into the water to fight if people are in danger. He has a spell that lets him alter his body to breathe underwater, so these gems will seem like more powerful versions of stuff he already knows. The mermaid tails are a bonus.

some thoughts i have...

- izou won't exactly be partying it up as they approach on an expensive yacht, but he will be indulging in whatever's below deck given there isn't a single bone in his body that's anxious about this encounter (unless...?). he's fought plenty of terrifying creatures in various pruned timelines. if any more serious characters want to hassle him about it and get in an argument about the dire situation revolving humanity in this timeline, feel free. move over seok dang, i NEED a SIP OF THAT WINE. i will probably have a prompt for this...

- afterwards, he will mostly be jumping from yacht to yacht in an attempt to protect stranded civilians and other outsiders from the smaller amphibious kaijuu. while he can certainly swim, izou is (1) too wary of LILITH's ability to mess with their bodies to accept the help of the implant, and (2) too confident in his own strength to rely on it to be diving ultra deep in the ocean. he'll only be landing the occasional blow on the mama orca whenever it strays too close to whatever yacht he's on. i want this encounter to further drill into him the fact that he's far more human than he used to be, and that he WILL need help... from outside sources. an assassin class servant like himself is generally more suited to one-on-one encounters and stealth, so this is the perfect time to mess him up a little.

- while he won't be using the implant, he will be engaged in a player plot that will force the affects of the ocean gem on him partially... so after the fight, he will be feeling constantly choked and bothered and will temporarily have gills in addition to lungs (it works, trust me) for about... 48 hours. he'll also be fairly cranky about the whole experience, trying to tend to his wounds alone, so if any current cr wishes to plot or deal with that i'm open arms about it. unsure if i'll have a prompt on my top-level in regards to this or just keep it closed.

▼ He's got weapons, so he will be letting other people get their hands on what's on offer. He currently has a Light elemental sword and his earthquake club, so he might use those across the fight. My aim is to mix in whatever successes/failures he has with his attacks on the main kaiju, so if you want to play around with that lmk! He will definitely be using the club to make vibrations in the water, so tag-teaming with someone else would work really well for a duo plan.
▼ As he also has Healing Touch, he will be taking part in any kind of healing/recovery both during the lulls in the battle and post-battle. If you'd rather have someone from Everlight take care of you over the people here at LILITH, then Yuji is a good bet! He'll be happy to take care of anyone who might need it.
▼ Yuji can probably physically pick up some of the smaller kaiju, the babies, and yeet them. I think it would be fun for someone to witness this literal teenager pick up a monster and throw it away.
▼ I'd like for there to be some injury for Yuji (punishment for the sin of pushing himself too hard), but in lieu of a monster taking a bite at him, there's always the option for him taking a hit for someone; he's durable, he says it himself, and will throw himself between someone and a monster if he thinks he can protect them.
▼ Any kind of pre or post-mission bonding, discussion, calming, exhausted talks, etc, Yuji is there for it and there for you!!

AKI:

▼ Man has a rocket launcher arm now and is not afraid to use it.
▼ Since he can't use his own sword, he's going to be going for the harpoon/tridents and making use of that. Maybe he'll be able to do some damage!
▼ A little injury might be nice for Aki, but since he's new (and still vaguely recovering from surgery) he'll probably be taking it a little easy and trying to play a more support role than an aggressive one. Anyone who needs a mother hen wife type to bully them into resting/healing will find Aki useful.
▼ He will spend a lot of time protecting the healers/the medical bay, so we can work around that!
▼ As he is new, I would like to do anything with him!

- Shion is just a sword guy, so he's mostly going to be focusing on anime wall running around the various boats to protect folks from the baby whales and taking potshots at mom if and when she's close enough. I am 1000% here for physics-breaking team up maneuvers, let's do some real nonsense.

- Also possibly making use of the harpoons and/or artillery (er, if someone shows him how to use them) because he has uncanny good aim. Which is hilarious, given the givens, but on brand. He is ridiculous.

- Finally, I'm planning on getting him dunked into the ocean to discover that he cannot actually 'see' through water. Fun times! Anyone who would be kind enough to fish him back out before he gets eaten or drowns would be very appreciated. Also possibly some h/c action post almost drowning? He's a chill guy but he has his limits.

-dan heng will definitely be out here stabbing orca eyes using his trusty spear, cloud-piercer... if anyone wants to join him pls-- overall he would be rather calm about all this if only because he's used to fighting monsters... though i do think it would be interesting if he got heavily(?) injured!

-he will also of course help anyone out of the water!! rescue is his priority... he also does have some control over water, so some minor control over waves?

-additionally he can provide CPR but clearly he doesn't not actually know how to give CPR?

-mermaids?? mermaids??? i have been enabled... his real form does include a tail, but i think he should experience having just a tail. he will probably be floundering around outside of water afterwards...

-besides mermaids though, he will probably be out and about in his human form, but maybe during a fight or due to some injury(?) you may catch him in his true form.

otherwise, he'll be fighting with his glaive and summoning lightning ... if anyone wants to get shocked or get swept offboard bec you get caught on its handle, please let me know! it will be fun, they say.

he has a pet spirit called ll (lightning-lord) that he'll also be sending to fight—and swallowed so it can fight on the inside. he doesn't talk and mostly relies on jy's commands so i'll probably puppet him if you both want to be swallowed.

I have (1) mecha pilot from space with a robot built for sniping
- elan can offer support fire and scoop people out of the ocean if need be! otherwise he'll be keeping a safe distance and avoid going underwater because he can't swim, the ocean is terrifying, mother orca is terrifying, he is a normal amount of frightened to be fighting kaiju but y'know, grin and bear it!
- his robot can fly so convince him to launch you at the kaiju for an attack, please let's tag team. he would be in fear for your safety but for everyone else it's just another day in the life
- along those lines, i think it'd be funny if he watched someone have a fake-out death only for them to turn out okay because they're superhuman
- he'll do search and rescue after the fight so looking for others to buddy up with! i want him to come away from it thinking oh saving lives actually feels meaningful and his robot is not only a tool of death and destruction

I will totally be having Nanami participate in the RNG for the whale fight, and I love a good combo attack, so if anyone wants to do team up fight moves with him for threads, let me know. I think it would be fun to reference some crazy shounen antics from threads in the hit attempts. I am definitely into having him jump some baby whale backs and yachts to get to good vantage points for hits.

He'll at least once explore the lower decks and maybe squint at the setup? Why is so much fancy food and drink being used as bait! :c

I'm up for either on shore rescue effort threads or medical bay options too if anyone likes either of those! Whether it is checking in with another character/being nosy or also being injured and going through some recovery, Nanami can be there. If anyone wants to be teamed up with him and have it lead to injury in some way, let me know that too.

I'm not going go for fish tail unless something very funny comes up, because for the most part Nanami wouldn't be that motivated to try underwater battle and would prefer to snipe from the surface. So unless some specific thread idea pops up, he's more likely to opt out and not want to mess too much with the tech modifications. However, if you want him to totally carry fish buddies somewhere, he can do this!

i'm trying to wrap up some threads from january, so for this event i'm planning to mostly tag out. however, i'm open to closed threads with new and existing cr alike!! here are a few ideas for threads:

■ stealing some fine aged wine from the fancy yacht for later
■ getting attacked by an orca while acting obnoxiously rich on purpose while on a yacht or underwater... obnoxiously rich meaning yelling (and lying) how much kryptos she has, obviously orcas will understand
■ being forced to use an ocean gem because it's better than drowning and take the fight underwater. she's going to have a shrimp tail (NSFW warning) because writer's shrimp posture is real
■ dropping by the medical bay after everything is over and giving someone a lemon lollipop and trying to convince them that it has calming effects (it doesn't)
■ chilling somewhere back at the base, most likely library... come discuss books with her if you'd like, she has Opinions
