Player Plot - Outsider Research Team GO!
Hi Synflux, sky here with what is hopefully a cool thing that people can engage in.
For a while now, Ratio has been researching stuff on his own, but he's finally going to put out a call to start an official Outsider-lead research team!
The Outsider Research Team is meant to establish yet another avenue for Outsiders to affect the world. Any project involves research and may require an organized effort by Outsiders can be done through this team, including plot-affecting inventions and the like (mod approval required, of course)!
ICly, this should provide unique CR opportunities using research and development as the backdrop. For instance, with the recent hints about LILITH's plugsuits lacking upgrades for decades and kaiju parts being used as protection, there is an opportunity for players to push to improve the plugsuits, which may open avenues for mods plot-wise, and further existing side quests.
The Research Team isn't meant to gatekeep any opportunities for characters who choose not to sign up, and it also isn't a way for me/Ratio to stick my fingers into other people's plots. Any projects or plots established for the research team will be open to all, and other Outsiders in the team can lead projects without Ratio's involvement. I'm honestly just hoping to create a space for characters who are less combat-oriented to have things to do.
The research team will initially start with Ratio recruiting from his CR, so anyone who has interacted with him and shown interest in any of the research or projects he's ever mentioned is free to assume that Ratio personally messaged them asking if they were interested in joining the team. For those outside of his CR, I will be creating a network post in the next day or two with Ratio publicizing this move.

Among the projects the research team will be tackling right now is upgrading the plugsuit, as I mentioned before. That questline is tied to an already posted side quest, For Science. There are more project ideas on the permanent landing page!
