Hello Outsiders, and welcome to this round’s CR meme and OOC intro post for new players.

Below are some notes, along with a schedule of upcoming events.

▶ For new players/characters, please respond to the taken list as soon as you can. The mods rely on the taken list to maintain accurate player count.

▶ As a reminder, we do have an unofficial player-run Discord server that any player is welcome to join at any time.
▶ As an additional reminder, syndata profiles are now public and IC information. Syndata profiles will be filled out by AI. It is okay to say the AI generated profiles with some minor errors or unclear information. However, most of this information should be accurate. We strongly suggest everyone review your character profiles in the community to make sure you are okay with profiles being public knowledge. New characters may have received acceptance notices that stated Syndata profiles were not IC knowledge; we are working on updating that.

We have some optional quests to give players some ideas of things to do this month. March's quests are as follows, please click the SUMMARY for a description of each quest.

STREET FIGHTER III
Location: Neo Tokyo

Summary: Breaking intel uncovers a surprising twist in their investigations: It looks like some of the organizations they were observing are linked some of the subliminal messages from the New Year holiday. In particular, some of them were using the hypnotizing residents into shopping at certain locations. Unfortunately, before LILITH could get any clear names, it looks like whatever source (or bug) they relying on was found and destroyed.

News travels fast and the other organizations have become extra cautious about who they talk to and what they say. This includes reducing their time at hostess clubs which has left some hostesses feeling jilted by the loss of regular customers. If a promising new customer came around, they might be willing to open up more to keep them around...
Objective(s): Gather more information, find out what the stores have in common to uncover the key link. The stores could be selling a certain product or maybe the properties are managed by the same people.
Notes: This quest may align with some player plots.

ON THE RECORD
Location: Neo Tokyo

Summary: A local reporter dies suddenly in an accident and some readers begin to whisper that the circumstances are suspicious. Before they died, they were an avid reporter about local politics and maintained a blog. After they died, their entire blog was scrubbed from the network. Some screenshots surface and reveal they were investigating an unnamed council member and were preparing to go to their editor to drop some unknown breaking news. Be careful! Investigating this might result in some unfortunate accidents happening around you.
Objective(s): Search the internet, investigate the reporter's death and connections, and try to find out what story they were going to publish.
Notes: This quest may align with some player plots.

BE PREPARED
Location: Kyoto

Summary: As people return to Kyoto, a small government is being set up until formal elections can be held. Until then, it's important to establish standard disaster protocol. The new government of Kyoto will ask volunteer agents to help plot out evacuation routes, designate adequate shelters, deliver emergency goods, and help promote resources to the locals. They might have even commissioned some mascot costumes to help make their announcements more engaging
Objective(s): Help establish official evacuation routes and shelters, dress up in mascot costumes to promote safety to children, and help remind Kyoto citizens to be safe for the future
Notes: N/A

FOR SCIENCE
Location: Neo Tokyo

Summary: Following the Imugi attack, some researchers are desperate to try and collect as much as they can before scavengers take the best pieces. The Imugi's scales have become a commodity due to their beautiful color and sheen and the scales can be found through out the black market. LILITH Researchers are particularly interested in the scales because they may have special properties that can reduce the effects of the Rift.
Objective(s): Help the researchers retrieve scales and turn them in so they can run experiments
Notes: This quest may influence future developments.

CR YOU WANT/CAN OFFER: Do you want a ride or die that will take months to unlock all her heart events? Maybe fewer if you're a non-human? Because that's basically what befriending Lucy is like. Nyuu is much more approachable but skittish.

Lucy's currently seeing visions of other dead diclonius because she's finally starting to feel guilty for just killing them all by sinking the island facility. She and Nyuu are communicating more mentally, but it's more feelings based than words.

Since Lucy has Elan's stuff after he disappeared, I'm open to her meeting people by chasing his Haro around as it cusses people out.

CHARACTER BLURB: Shinn grew up in a peaceful pocket of a world at war until his home was invaded and his family died in the crossfire, and he became a combat pilot to protect other people from going through the same thing he did. Synflux has been shit for him in that Brasov pinged his hyper-specific trauma and he character regressed. He has been doing a bit better since then!

One thing that he’s slowly working on in light of prior missions is trying to get Outsiders to prep more ahead of fights (both to get civilians out of the way and to set up emplacements) and use small-squad tactics when fighting kaiju. He is doing this very tentatively and awkwardly because he is himself a disobedient little shit from a militia full of disobedient little shits. He deserves to suffer through every step of this for all the grief he has caused his superior officers.

CR YOU WANT: I love everything! BUT FOR SPECIFICS... I am always looking for negative CR and weirdly intense CR! I love people who can meet Silco at his most psychopathic, and also people who can push against his fucked up ideas of the world. He will step into shit and make enemies just like that, which is kind of where he is at his most comfortable. I do like having people that he can just be shitty with without abandon, as well as people who can challenge him (though he's incredibly stubborn, so this takes a LONG time) Silco really is here to be a salty normal guy trying to get a single hit on a Kaiju. It's funny, so I'm always down for it. I'm also always looking for other shady types to dig in with! I really would like to get more people that are less Morally Driven to do some shitty things together. You know. For the Good of The World.

As an aside, I'm obviously Extremely Into working with the Street Fighter III sidequest, as this is a part of what I'm interested in doing with Silco. Please let Mister Crime Lord help! I'm always willing to set up logs and help folks with working on these! Silco is kind of "running" the agency on the side that Elysium and Izou started, so there's space for plenty to get involved!! I also have other leads that the con got in the way of writing quests for that I'm happy to start tapping to throw in y'alls direction!! (Possible kaiju fighting ring; possible businessman stalking... please let me bring you in on these) I can talk about those too and we can direct those to the mods to help progress the plot — or I can hold them off for May! I'm kinda down for either!

CR YOU CAN OFFER:
Manipulative CR - silco's a manipulative little shit and very uhhh... Ambitious and driven so he can manipulate with the best of them! That being said, while it can be self serving it can also horribly blow up in his face! It's fine he's used to it. He can work with teenagers and adults alike, and generally gravitates towards fellow Normal (no) Types.
Power Hungry - Silco will do anything for power, and I do mean (ALMOST) anything! Do you have a character that likes to manipulate the power hungry or get things from them in exchange? Silco is your guy! I'm always willing to work things out in that respect and silco can be very blind to that type of consequence until it's too late! So let's do it!
A Shady Guy - hey, he's literally the mayor of crime city, and runs a massive drug operation slash hopping club slash council of other drug kingpins called Chembarons. Silco exudes the general energy of a shitty guy, and he's Loud about it. Theres no shame in being a drug kingpin when you live in the underground I guess
Haters / if you need a Hater - Silco is a bitchy mean girl who hates everybody but he LIVES for grudges and negative CR. If you want a hater, he's your guy. If your character is a hater, we can mash barbies. It's always a coin toss whether or not silco will get along with a fellow bitch or not but I'm always excited to see where it goes! I'm always a fan of negative cr, so don't hesitate!

PLANS & GOALS: Silco is involved with said certain player plots that may or may not involve the criminal underbelly, so working with that and/or using that as an opportunity IS a part of my plans! I'm just always into playing with crime and the like in general as well! I will do any set up that's needed if you want to work on that with me! 💖 He's really gunning for this, so as an effect, I am doing my best to make myself as available as possible! If you would like to do something with this or the crime plot in general, just lmk!

CANON & CANON POINT: Chainsaw Man, currently she’s from the end of chapter 82

CIVILIAN NAME & OCCUPATION: Alex, she is a dog trainer!

CHARACTER BLURB: Actually the worst, but you wouldn’t know it by talking to her. She’s fairly friendly, but also pretty private. It’s easy to learn the things she likes (movies, dogs, etc.) or about her job back home. Getting into things beyond that is much more difficult. She keeps an almost impenetrable steel barrier between the person her coworkers talk to and who she actually is.

But get past that and she’s pretty awful. She can be manipulative, cruel, and is very end justifies the means. And it just gets worse. If the question arises why are the Chainsaw Man characters like this, odds are she might’ve had more than a little to do with it.

CR YOU WANT: I’m good with anything really. But I think Makima would gel really well with movie fans, pet lovers, other office types. Just more social stuff, really.

CR YOU CAN OFFER: Someone who’s really used to the kaiju fighting aspects of the job since that’s pretty much what her division does back home. Someone to watch movies with, to talk dogs with. She also has a dog here, a shiba named Creme Brulee, so that’s an easy CR hook.

She’s also somebody who is way too okay with whatever nonsense goes on outside of missions. Shenanigans aren’t going to get too much more than an eyebrow raise from her. She might even join in on the fun...a little. Or within reason. She’s not going to go too crazy with things.

And tends to enjoy portraying herself as the normal person among Brimstone being Brimstone.

But Makima is also somebody who CR with them can go somewhere potentially awful someday. She is absolutely the boss from hell and I don’t mind working towards doing something with that. I’d just prefer it to be something longer term, she’s not in any hurry to show that side of herself much here. ...to most characters anyways, castmates unfortunately, there’s no real longer term there.

PLANS & GOALS: No huge plans at the moment! She’ll be interested in the new people since she’s always interested in seeing what there. Her Syndata profile’s fair game too if anyone would’ve read that.

I think that’s about it really? Her main goal right now is to move back to her room in the main base.

Nara | Taryon Darrington (Critical Role) | Redemption

ABOUT YOU: Office worker who usually tags during breaks and evenings. I crochet, garden in the summer, play piano, catch up on years-old shows, and became a Girl Scout leader last fall! Currently super busy with managing cookie selling and spring cleaning.

CANON & CANON POINT: Critical Role (after Campaign 1)

CIVILIAN NAME & OCCUPATION: Gary Jumbo, sales clerk at a gaming/anime merchandise shop

CHARACTER BLURB: High-intelligence, low-wisdom artificer who left home because he read about adventurers in books and wanted to be one. There's also his backstory with wanting to prove himself and dealing with his shit dad, but that was handled in canon and now he's focused on being an actual hero. Which he can do here by fighting kaiju. A massive nerd who needs someone to tell him to chill sometimes.

Taryon's skillset include building and improving magic equipment and casting support spells like Haste, Fly, etc. He uses four battle roombas to deliver those spells across larger distances, and most of his fighting is done with the shitton of LILITH equipment he bought. He has a robot sidekick now! Say hi to Doty!

He was killed in the October event and revived without his memories, so he's still feeling weird about seeing evidence of his past time here and being unsure how close he was to everyone.

He comes off as flighty and goofy - and boy, he is - but he's also canny and smart, and is not to be trifled with. He will turn deadly serious in an instant if the situation calls for it! Vampires among the Outsiders, be not afraid: Roland has had an epiphany in the last few months and no longer sees them as nothing but rampaging monsters to be exterminated. He's a very open-minded guy, despite everything!

Roland loves you. Even you. He comes off as extremely religious and will be glad to tell you how much God loves you, but... well, mostly what he believes is that whatever he, Roland, is doing is God's will, and... it's complicated. The man's confidence is something to behold.

PTSD PALS; This would require a lot of building up to, but I would love for Aventurine to realize that he's not the only person here who struggles with surviving terrible, horrible things and what that turns people into/what it does to the people who survive. CR YOU WANT: I'm really open to just seeing where anything goes! This particular version of Gilgamesh was sort of a mentor to Ritsuka and Mashu, so I'd probably really enjoy placing him in a mentor type role with other characters again. It is a big IC sticking point that he only has one individual whom he will deem a "friend," but he can develop Fondness for people in spite of that. AND IDK, like I said, just going to throw darts at a wall and see what sticks as far as the CR goes. Negative or complex or tense or whatever CR is also good!!
CR YOU CAN OFFER: Again, I'm really pretty open-minded? Like I said, Gilgamesh does have that thing about not calling people "friends" but he can cooperate with others and find people Interesting or Entertaining or Worthy, and tense or negative CR or just complex CR is fine too.
PLANS & GOALS: I do enjoy playing up Gil's entrepreneurial side and his strategic side, so I'm looking to get him investigating the kaiju and building up specific, strategic offenses against them. This version of Gil is known for wisdom and planning, so I want to lean into his smarts, cunning, and even how he can be a bit ruthless. Stuff like how he had Ritsuka bribe Ishtar in the goddess alliance? Or planning fortifications against the enemy? I'd be interested in having him explore that sort of thing here with other characters. For the entreprenuerial side, I would be interested in having him get involved with local businesses somehow. It could showcase Gil's more down to Earth (well, kinda) and fun side, as seen in the summer FGO content and parody series, and even as seen in FSR for that matter. Something like the "civilian identity" he has in FSR would be a lot of fun, I think! So I'll be looking for opportunities of that sort as well.
