[ Those are valid concerns to have. Kabru has been doing his best to understand and make the most out of the situation, but he's carrying anxieties as well. They're away from the dungeon, and it's growing. It's only a matter of time before it reaches its final stage of maturation and they see a repeat of the Utaya incident. It's that, or the elves claim the dungeon and the rest of the land as they're waiting here to be freed. That's the lesser of both evils, but it's still not the outcome that he wants. If they want to better understand the dungeon and protect themselves from its dangers, they need to stop it themselves. It has to be a short-lived race, not the elves.

He's worried as well, but he learns nothing about this place if he shows his true feelings and frets about it constantly. He has to learn about the people around them and how the world operates. To do that, he has to put up that farce and make allies.

Kabru considers how to respond to this. It feels like it would pay to be a little more honest. ]
I'm frustrated too. The people and technology are very interesting, but I can't afford to waste time here. I also want to go back to the dungeon.

[ He won't talk about his true goal just yet, but at least he's speaking honestly around Laios. ]

But to do that, we need to understand this place and gather information from the people who have been living here.
