That's good to hear, since most people wouldn't take too kindly to being patronized or even just talked down to by someone who thinks so highly of themselves. It's always better to try approaching people from a point of equality and mutual understanding if you want to get through to them.
Hmmm. I suppose you're right on the front of people need to learn to support themselves at some point, if only because it's impossible to ensure that someone will always be there for them. We all always only have ourselves to rely on, after all. That's the only true constant in life.
Heh. It's those instances that I think outside help might also be beneficial. Some people simply don't know HOW to stop and think, and although you can often teach them to a degree, I've found it's a huge part of people's personality. Something inherent in them that they can't easily change. Doesn't mean they shouldn't try, though!
