y e p. speaking of adhd...let's see if I can squish this down a BIT (failed)

Dan Heng raises an eyebrow. "Something like this, but not monster killing? What was it, if I may ask?"

.....great Akivili of the Silver Rails, this woman is not averse to being up close and personal. They're nearly nose to nose with how close she is, and he's debating between pushing her away or just absconding-- ah she's leaning back. Goodness. "I am a vidyadhara, a race of people descended from a dragon. Not a cat, not a fish. We are aquatic in nature, but that doesn't mean fish..." (But yes he's totally a cat-coded guy. He cannot escape this.)

...her later conclusion has him sighing and running a hand over his face. "Sure. Whatever makes sense to you, Captain." This is not the hill he wants to die on. Some of that sulky attitude feeds into the dipping mood. It doesn't matter what he is. It didn't stop what happened.

Sigrun continues to throw personal space to the wind and lays a hand on his shoulder. ....He twitches, but...doesn't hate it. He's always found himself enjoying the warmth of human touch, something he can't offer as cold blooded as he is. He allows it, as this woman he'd just met offers out words of comfort. She...didn't have to. She doesn't have to do this.

Being reached out to first...he can never quite get used to it. So he keeps his head bowed, peering up at her through dark bangs. The story is...a bit confusing, but he gets what she's trying to say. Have hope. Keep getting back up. Willpower can indeed be a powerful driving force...

Is that not the main principle of the Trailblaze?

((Oooh you know it, Sigrun. You know Tuuri would have adored this place...))

....the kidnapping of Outsiders and the complete massacre and arson of an entire village is hardly a "bump in the road" but...he's not mad. He understands what she means. Dan Heng offers a wan smile. "Thank you, Captain Sigrun. I know we will grow past this. It's just...been difficult."

He looks with her again at the lights, how they flicker in some places like a fire. He has read of cultures using fire to send people off. The lights also remind him of stars. And the strange costumes, all the strange and wonderful civilizations and people he'd gotten to meet amongst the galaxy of worlds. Perhaps that's also why it's comforting, despite all the noise and crowds. Those usually overwhelm him. "I'm glad you agree," he says, a bit wry, a tiny bit teasing.

She did mention Norway, and vikings. This world has a form of those; he remembers reading of them, and the customs she talks about ring a bell with their similarities. "It sounds lively- ah." Head bonk. MA'AM. His personal space!!! Keep it up, if he hated it he would have tried biting her or something lmao.

Dan Heng clears his throat, a bit embarrassed about the costume. First. "My legs were broken on the mission. Badly." Beaten over and over by a bloody rock until he stopped fighting stopped trying to run stopped stop stop stop please stop-- he shivers, taking a deep breath. "But they've since healed. This...costume. It's a technology malfunction I cannot undo for the day, so." He huffs, glaring at the "tail" like it bit him. "My horns are real. The clothing is a costume. A very restrictive one. I suppose it is fortunate my past injury gave me easy access to a mobility aid..."
