[It'll be hard to convince him out of the angel talk once he sees Lucy launch herself into the air and hit the monster with an invisible attack. Graham is pretty busy, though, convincing himself that if this all is fake, then he can't get hurt and die. Not that that would matter to him either way. But if he has to die, he'd rather not be eaten by a monster. That just seems like a pathetic way to go.
Graham is fast, agile, and has mastery over his strange choice of weapon. Like an extension of his own arms, he uses it to grip onto the corners of scales and slowly make his way towards the throat of the Imugi.
He can't exactly get under the chin to pierce it. Not what his weapon is good for, and not reachable from where he's at. Instead, as he gets close to the throat, that's where he stops to start prying off another scale. There is nothing and nowhere for him to plant his feet on, nothing to keep him safe on the side of the wildly-whipping dragon. Who, by the way, really hates having these scales ripped off so violently. These little ants shouldn't be able to do that! It roars in anger, bringing a tail around to whip at the annoyance and knock it loose again. It's a much farther fall this time. Maybe his angel can swoop in again. Or at least fix him up when he flops to the ground.]
